The demo of Kane & Lynch: Dog Days is available as of today exclusively on Xbox Live, provided you were sent a precious code to download it. There is some very interesting content as you can try a bit of the campaign mode, a mission of the Arcade mode and you can even get your hands on three of the multiplayer modes (Fragile Alliance, Undercover Cop and Cops & Robbers). Generous as we are, we would not want you to miss the opportunity to see the game in action so here are a few videos of this exclusive demo. We'll start with the introduction movie and the first part of the demo section of the single player mode played in the hardest difficulty setting. Enjoy! Update: Second part added.
Kane & Lynch: Dog Days' visuals may not have been impressive when looking at screenshots, but it definitely is when you see it moving. The game has this creepy realistic look to it that is even disturbing sometimes. Don't look for Crytek-like extra-HD textures everywhere as you won't find much of them but, despite that, I find the way Io Interactive nailed the surveillance camera look quite stunning. Not only is it unique but it also adds a lot to the immersion, making this sequel even more atmospheric, which was the previous episode's main strength.
Gameplay-wise, this demo should reassure those who found the cover system of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men horrible. It is now fully functional and the aiming also feels a bit smoother and more precise than before. Moving around is then much more pleasant, whether you're running down an alley or sliding from cover to cover. Not everything is perfect though, the AI seems rather weak for now, the animations of the NPCs still look a bit dated, and there are also a few framerate issues that are all the more noticeable as the game runs very smoothly the rest of the time. That being said, let's keep in mind that it is only a demo version and that the developers still have a lot of time to fix most of these issues before the game ships in late August.
quests, which is a goddamn shame, a goddamn shame. For sure they could have come up with some meaningful side quests with at least a story. (45 minutes ago)
Definitely enjoying FFXV more but I am solely talking about the story missions, some good diversity there. I also really like the Chocobos. Just such a shame that the side quests truly are all fetch (46 minutes ago)
I just think it's a pretty bad sign if a new game can't generate interest on a free weekend. The fact that there are other new games is not a very compelling excuse imo. (2 Hours ago)
Black Ops is also the most popular Call of Duty sub-brand now. (2 Hours ago)
Also, even WD2 and Dishonered 2 sold much less than the previous games in their series. Same for CoD:IW, very few games that got released this Holiday season sold more than their predecessors. (2 Hours ago)
electric devices, entertainment devices, etc. So who has that much money left that isn't reserved for Christmas perparation and gifts?! All around bad timing, hence why I believe Spring would be right (2 Hours ago)
Then you have the fact that by now people's wallets are hurting. And many people buyed new consoles, PS4 Base or Pro, and XB1 S. Plus Holiday season sells a lot of other things like clothes, PC parts, (2 Hours ago)
