Kart Attack discovered in images

Blimey! Games announces the coming of an all-new game inspired by kart racing. Kart Attack is destined for the Xbox Live Marketplace, Playstation Network and Games for Windows Live. Its graphics have nothing to do with an amateur project. Another important detail is the focus on realism, so no fancy power-ups a la Mario Kart for you. Feel free to verify after the jump.

A release date has yet to be revealed.

Very original, and very good looking for an arcade title. Could be a lot of fun. What is Blimey! Games claim to fame? Any prior work?

Holy crap seriously. I guess it's a good thing that MS upped the file size limit, eh? This is looking nice, I hope the gameplay matches.

Blimey really know their stuff and this will be nothing short of excellent.

I hope the collisions will be something more than mere bumping. I think I've been spoiled by the Burnout Paradise gameplay videos XD

Oh, that company, they did GTR racing for the PC, and are supposed to be working on a GTR title for the 360 right? Wish they'd get that out the door first.

How will they release all the useless crap on disc when downloadables start looking like this? Oh yes, only a handful of PS3 users and two handfuls of 360 users are online and it will only get worse as the consoles come down in price, crap will sell and many a dvd-tree will be chopped down in vain. TIMMBERRRR!

Cas in point, Wii Play.. 5/10 average on metacritic and sells 3 million a month. Its threatening the ancient plastic trees of amazonia.

Looks great. I hope it's a sim and not an arcade game played on realistic circuits.

Would be nice being able to throw with turtles, no??!! ^^
Sorry, just kidding.
The grafx are hot, for shure, but what about physics? Will it be total arcade or more realistic?
Is that true with being able to punch out your opponents???

It already say's in the opening post: ''Another important detail is the focus on realism, so no fancy power-ups a la Mario Kart for you.''

Really looking forward to this one, it's been a long time since there was a descent karting game released.

About the game

What's up?
  • Tiz
Tiz This is their plan for most of their games, if not all of their 1st party IP going forward. (5 minutes ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz People say Gears & Halo aren't as big as they used to be, while that is true, they've traded unit sales for microtransactions which is proving very profitable for them. (6 minutes ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz Cultivating new studios takes time. MS have only demonstrated interest in established brands. If they can drop 2.5billion on Mohjang, then it is a very deliberate decision to not open/buy new studios. (8 minutes ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker I could be wrong on this but didn't Phil Spencer say he wanted SoT to be a long term thing? A returning franchise like Halo, Gears and Forza? (17 minutes ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker Back in October the Rare team didn't even confirm it for this year but going by what MS said, it seems to be a 2017 title now, (19 minutes ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker People recommended me to read this Sea of Thieves article for a while now, apparently it explains what the game will be all about. [url] (21 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog which is going to put them in a position where they're only really offerings 3 IP's. even remedy have gone elsewhere and they were practically in MS's pocket. (29 minutes ago)
