now THAT is an update, Bioware, are you watching? Video. Footate. its your friend. :)
but anyway, this is a Factor 5 Lair thread. No need to bring Bioware into the discussion :)
Demo next month, right? Bah, and me without a PS3.. :/
I still don't like fireball animations though, but w/e, can't have it all.

Decent graphics, but I still don't see how it can be fun for more then 2hrs
Image has more clarity now and detail, especially the environment. I love it.
It does have nice looking environments + Scale but it just looks boring.

I just dont like this game.

And I really don't understand what's so boring in this? Looks great. The pace is a lot faster than it was at some point & finally there's someone demonstrating the game who knows HOW to play it. This could very well be one of the best flying games ever (with some ground combat mixed in it), it certainly has the potential. Though, it's probably true with every possible flying game that when you just LOOK at it being played, it probably doesn't look too exciting. Just wait until you're actually playing it yourself.
In my opinion LAIR sounds great in every possible way. The gameplay has variety. Not only do you have your "normal" shooting-based aerial combat, they've also added melee battles & QTE-type sequences. Besides, the variety of gameplay doesn't only come from how diverce the controls etc. are, it's also about the objectives. You're not just mindlessly killing everything in sight always, there are also escorting missions, boss battles (which seem to be very different from normal dog, or rather, dragon fights in the game) and missions where you have to defend things. In some missions you're mainly fighting other dragons, in other you're slaughtering hundreds or even thousands of human beings on the ground in multiple ways (eat them, scortch them, throw big things like those monsters' heads at them, slash them to oblivion), and after that you'll be attacking boats that are trying to invade your country.
So really, LAIR offers:
-an epic story with great potential (mixing enviromental issues with religion & politics isn't your everyday story)
-good gameplay (it's a flying combat game, not God of War in air or something, and so far it seems to offer the most diverce flying combat game ever with aerial & ground combat mixing long-range fire shooting & melee combat + has some pretty neat QTE-thingies thrown in)
-great graphics (still suffers from some slow-downs, but the framerate has gotten A LOT better in just a month or two, I wouldn't mind if the finalized version ran this well. Even then, they still have a couple of/few months left to exterminate the quite minor framerate issues it still has)
-great music
Just think about any other (good) flying combat game ever released, LAIR offers everything they do and even more (usually these types of flying games don't have that good a story, just something to keep you going). If that doesn't get you excited, then I doubt any flying ever game will or ever has. :|
FPSs are a lot more simple & repetitive than LAIR, no one seems to have any problems with the millionth same kind of Call of Duty, Medal of Honor etc. If you think LAIR will get boring in 2 hours I don't understand how anyone could be entertained with FPSs for more than ten minutes.
at first i thought this was just a PS3 tech-demo with a simple gameplay but now after watching these videos, i thought about it more and it can really be an awesome experience.
Also, Sony bring PAIN out on PSN ASAP! That game looks like a great romp for friends as an after-party treat.
