The environment here looks almost CSS quality graphics wise. Not that great... Still this game ain't about the graphics. Great fun.

I love that she's wearing a Depeche Mode shirt. Can't wait to hear which Depeche Mode songs will appear in the game.

A purely fun experience, if not one of the most fun games to be realeased for this gen. Worth another 40 brick, though? Hmmm. Maybe if they bundled 1 and 2 on the same disc for that price, then it's worth it.

I'm also disappointed they didn't bump up the graphics. It doesn't even look as nice as HL2 Episode 2. Ah well it's still great fun.

Yeah source engine seems to be completely outdated now. Did any other games other than valve games ever use the Source engine?

I would much rather get my hands on HL ep3 this fall. I know this franchise has a big fanbase, but I really can't seem to get excited about this game so far. I think it coming along the same time as MW2 is a really big factor in that. I don't see myself finding time for much of any other action game for quite a while after MW2 arrives.

Too many shooters release in the fall, why go toe to toe with MW2?

Hopefully the same can be done for MW1 and 2, Halo 1, 2 and 3, and Assassins Creed 1 and 2. Heck, just do it for all sequels!

You know what I mean, though. I don't know what it is, but to me these games don't feel worthy of the full price because their production value just seems a bit lacking for what you get out of the box. It's soley a linear MP experience, and this second game just feels like a hashed expansion rather than anything progressive. I felt the same way about Portal also. Would you pay the full bean for that? I wouldn't. I think Valve realized that and thus packed it in with the Orange Box. Something the same should be done here.

I dunno, the main character models are streets ahead, eerily realistic, but yeah, the environments and props have that flat, dead feel to them. There's no self-shadowing on the items either, by the looks of things, which I think adds to the problem.

No doubt it will a superb game, but the Source engine is really starting to show it's age when you see it in the cold light of day!
