The Japanese release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII wasn't particularly successful from what we've heard, so Square-Enix decided to release a new dev diary video to show us what the game is made of.
I really want this game to be good...but many folks who played it (japanese version) overwhelmingly gave it thumbs down. I'm gonna cancel my pre order, and get it at a later date.....bargain bin purchase.
This was surprising given the fan base in japan. Maybe this will push them to finally make a proper title worthy of the name. 13 was such a let down, this company has not aged well, best of luck to them in the coming future.
There is a fan-base for this installment, but, I'm definitely not one. I'm happy it's finally released...so they can devote time to working on FFXV (squee!!!!).

This looks utterly terrible! What a disgusting stain on the SE-brand. How did you manage to fuck up an entire trilogy of FF games?
Cocoon and the L'Cie/Fal'Cie had so much potential but you succeeded in getting everything wrong even in the first game: pathetic story, mary-sue characters, mostly horrendous art direction, somnific combat.

Yeah, I seen a couple of playthroughs on twitch tv...and those textures looked very PS2-ish. I was kind of surprised by that, because the first Final Fantasy XIII looked gorgeous.
