Mass Effect 2 unveils Subject Zero

Mass Effect 2 unveils Subject Zero

Bioware introduces us with a whole new Character of Mass Effect 2 going by the name Subject Zero. She probably will not be to everyone's liking but after all, it takes different strokes to move the universe.

Maybe it's just me but doesn't this kind of crap sort of spoil the game? I know i regret opening the gamersyde front page today :P

Can you shag her? That's obviously the important question...

:o)

She seems pretty annoying in the trailer. It seems like Bioware's promotion for this game and Dragon Age is *trying* to make the games look lame. They pretty much succeeded with Dragon Age, but I don't think that game ever didn't look lame.

Only reason I'm still hyped for ME2 is because ME was probably the most powerful game I've ever played... with KotOR right behind it. I'll buy it regardless. But seriously, someone needs to remind EA Bioware make RPGs not FPSes, then take out whoever's in charge of marketing Bioware's games and shoot them.

Shame they're ditching the old characters, what a silly move.

They're not...

They are, most of the older characters will be npc's who you might come across every now and again, they're being replaced by the characters Bioware has been showing off, Bioware confirmed as much in their forums quite a while ago now.

I heard that some if not most of these new characters were there as replace the characters if they died in the last game, not regardless of whether they died. I remember they said it around the time they revealed "Grunt" and people were asking about Wrex, and Bioware said you'd get Grunt if Wrex was dead because they didn't want to have to completely rewrite situations if the character was different.

That is simply a horrific character design. Still, the game will probably be great but wow, really awful.

I love it when the devs release undoctored images, because even though they look great now, the game always looks better when played.

Yep i sure some old teammates will be playable as the devs have hinted at this on the forums.

This badass girl is def going in my sqaud cant wait! Bed badass girl achievment coming up.

I really hate how Mass Effect 2 is turning out. Why did it have to be "darker"? Couldn't it just have been, you know, "original" like the first game? Anyway Bioware is owned by EA now, so there's nothing else to do another than sit around the campfire and talk old times.

Oh Bioware & Black Isle, how I miss thee.

Mixed feeling about this character. Maybe because i don't like tough girls, and she forcing Sheppard like she did on the video actually scared me to a point.

EA has absolutely nothing to say about the direction and production of this game, why do people keep bringing that up... (And EA hasn't been doing badly lately)

They don't have anything to say to a developer they own?
Commented on 2009-09-29 15:49:58
They don't go in there and tell BIOWARE they want them to change Mass Effect to a darker RPG...
Commented on 2009-09-29 16:24:11
Can't Bioware make her sexy and badass at the same time, maybe some hair too
Commented on 2009-09-29 16:26:43
It's a shame that this game uses Unreal Engine 3, since some AA would make it look incredible.

Bioware specifically wanted Mass Effect to feel more like a retro Sci-Fi with bright colors, colorful alien species and space exploration. Which it was. Then EA buys Bioware and suddenly its dark, action-focused, bloody and has "tough" NPCs running around. Sounds more like a typical EA game than a Bioware game tbh. But I might just be a coincidence, maybe.

What's up?
  • KORNdog
KORNdog I mean, i get it, they're attempts at those sort of games (sunset overdrive, quantum break etc) havn't exactly captured the last of us level of quality, but it isn't a reason to stop trying. (7 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: sounds like spencer is bringing games as a service to the forfront. Less traditional single player experiences, and if thats the case i have no interest what they're peddling. (8 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @AndreasZ94: wouldn't bother me. My unbought list of games i want is about 10 games long already. That should serve me until 2018 easily. (33 minutes ago)
  • AndreasZ94
AndreasZ94 I hope we didn't get all the good stuff on the first half and the second half of the year is gonna be shit or something, lol. (1 Hour ago)
  • AndreasZ94
AndreasZ94 Wtf is going this year!? We got tons of amazing AAA games, most of them from Japanese devs and now we're getting tons of amazing indie games as well. (1 Hour ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @Megido: The phrases people keep using about What Remains of Edith Finch are "unlike any other game of the genre" and "I loved this game while I didn't care for games like Gone Home and Ethan Carter". (1 Hour ago)
  • Megido
Megido And it's obviously down to taste. "Games" like Soma, for example, isn't for me. (3 Hours ago)
