Our PC videos of Max Payne 3

After waiting a little more, Max Payne 3 is finally available on PC, this is why we offer you four videos of gameplay and a gallery of screenshots, all from the first three chapters of the game. As you will see, the game is well optimized on PC, which is a relief considering that the previous Rockstar games released on PC were quite a disappointment in that area.

got it for the pc too. its fun and there is alot of gore (the guy (half of him) trying to get away from max on the airfield next to the hanger) what i havnt expected. what annoys me is that the game Looks quit smooth with all the aa but most times in the cutscenes there is this chromatic aberration shader filter which makes everything aliased behind it :(

Thanks for the videos. Really no other place to see a 1080p@60fps preview of the PC version. Looks great

I would really love to love this game, but it's not happening. I first played the ps3 version. And after 15 minutes i got frustrated with the game because of the useless and many cutscenes. I mean every fucking time i walk through a door a new cutscene starts that you just can't skip. But i went on to play the game hoping it would get better. But it doesn't. Then the difficulty begins to ramp up, making cover mechanics necessary and shoot dodge becomes a big risk. But i play max payne because of the bullet time and shoot dodge, not because of cover. So after i completed the first 8 chapters, i had enough. Then i thought: let's try the pc version because of the faster and more accurate aiming, and hoping that the cutscenes could be skipped, because the cutscenes are only there to mask the loading time of the next area. I expected on my ssd that loading would be fast so no more cutscenes. Boy, was i wrong. Cutscenes can't be skipped again, there is mouse acceleration making aiming a chore, and the mouse sensitivity slows down incredibly during bullet time, making aiming feel really bad, while needing your whole desk to move the aiming rectangle 180°. I know this is usefull with a controller to make accurate aiming better during bullet time, but on pc it just feels wrong.
This all leads to me not getting into the flow of shooting, dodging because every few minutes, the action stops because of the annoying cutscenes, which have bad and useless filters.
If rockstar would have found a way to decrease the cutscenes by a factor 10, and remove mouse acceleration and deceleration, this game would feel like a true max payne. I hope there will be mods and tweaks from community that will show what a game it could have been from the start.

I laughed way too hard on that. Great impressions, I'll be wary when this comes on a Steam sale.

if they ever made a movie adaptation, Jon Hamm, surely?

About the game

GriftGFX Rainbow Six Siege operators deliver their lines better. (14 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @AndreasZ94: Yea.. I'm not even sure the script is that bad. I've only heard a few real scenes (which are much better than the squad chatter). But man the voice over on a whole is quite poor. (15 minutes ago)
  • AndreasZ94
AndreasZ94 @GriftGFX: The premise is basically taking down a drug cartel, right? There are a lot of cool story things they could do with this concept but they just didn't care (16 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Sandbox games can have good voice acting/stories... Wildlands just doesn't seem to be one of them :D (20 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Siege and For Honor are both good games. I think they've been on a bit of a role lately. Hell the narrative in The Division.. a multiplayer focused RPG.. is better than Wildlands so far. (22 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @AndreasZ94: Watch Dogs 2 was fairly well received and it's a fairly recent game. But sure there are a few multiple games in there. (23 minutes ago)
  • AndreasZ94
AndreasZ94 South park is by far their most story driven game. The core of their AAA games are shooter sandboxes and mp "service" games like FH, R6S (38 minutes ago)
