Metal Gear Rising: Arsenal & Foes

Metal Gear Rising: Arsenal & Foes

Two more gameplay videos of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and we can't complain when it's about a frenzied game like this. First you'll get a glimpse at the seven deadly blades that Raiden will be able to unlock and upgrade then the cybernetic foes show off. The game is coming on February 19th.

High Frequency Blades
Cyborg Troops

Do you guys have to wait for an official release date for these videos? Only because they've been up for a few days now.

I've put up an MGR:R media blockade as I just want the game now.

Been playing a bit of Dragon's Dogma in anticipation of The Dark Arisen, so that should keep me entertained until Rising.

I don't really understand the blade differences. At the end of the day they all cut the same way in the slow mo mode

Exactly, its boring to me.
Its just cosmetic and a slight change of behavior...but in the end animations are exactly the same and nothing else which is annoying.

WTF is Raiden? Is he half cyborg/human or half human/nanobots.

He is like Adam jensen from Deus Ex HR.

Human with cybernetic enhancements.

Looks like someone skipped MGS4.

I'm not really sure but I saw one blade made it easier to chop through cyborgs, and then another gave you two hit boxes to cut through in Aim Mode.

I don't really care though. I finally played the demo and really enjoyed it. I'm tempted to purchase it, but not sure if it's a day one or not.

Good point - it would be nice if the sword that stuns more behaved like a real heavy/broad sword which in turn caused the character to treat it at such thus changing his swing ... but devs are lazy we know that already ... I guess I can see why gamers go bonkers on *ish like this sometimes

I miss the old NG Black days in this genre, when they actually were an effort.

You mean that DmC, Bayonetta, Razor's Edge has no effort at all on the weapons?

Would love to see Tomonobu Itagaki team up with Platinum Games.

Now, if only he and Kamiya could make peace.

Among those, Bayonetta and abit of Razor's Edge. RE tweaked animation, some badass ones, but still old weapons we seen and used many times before.

I don't think it was beef like that - Editors on the web like to sensationalize *ish.

The supposed beef comment:

"If I made a similar game as a game I made in the company I quit, people would say, ‘What an idiot, can’t he make anything else?’ Well, that is more or less the opinion I have for, uh, that Bayo-something game."

LMFAO at "Bayo-something"

I mean that's like me telling my boys - "yo son - you suck:D" and I do it regularly cuz I beat the shit out of them in UMvC3 daily.

Point - they can still do a game together cuz they have been caught drinking and chilling together long after this non-sense on the net - so keep your hopes up and don't let article titles and ish on the net sway you.

There is so much weapons they can use, hell bayonetta invented some claws out of nowhere, it seems you want something it doesnt exists, maybe yuo can come up with a weapon design and end it to developers, dont forget to invent moves, animations, balance sheets, enemy encounters, different difficulty seettings balance sheets and patterns, etc.

I see what you did there. I like that. MGSR is looking hot IMO but it would be better if the weapons played better from a physics standpoint. Doing that *ish takes time and, like you said, all that animation stuff that I don't understand.

The great thing about all this is that the game looks descent without it so far and would only benefit from more details I guess. If they do a sequel maybe that will be addressed.

I think Bayonetta did very good with weapons, RE too. Same weapons but updated animations to fit the new combat some moves are awesome. and DmC...well, screw that game lol.

Funny thing is; I played MGS4 before.

Sath @Megido: I thought you meant disc install data LOL Yes downloading full games like Infamous 2, borderlands...etc. off PSN takes ALOT of times. i just leave it on and use laptop or something. (2 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog i never really witness it. i download games "which then auto install" overnight. i can imagine it being quite annoying if you're watching the bar fill though. (2 Hours ago)

  • Megido
Megido @KORNdog: not exaggerating, it took that long. I got it off of PSN though, so it's not from a disc. (3 Hours ago)
