I loved RE4, and I hope this raises the bar, but so far, it looks and plays greatly!
Can't wait to play online co-op :)
PS. I really like Sheva's design.

10 bucks that reviews will bash RE5 for it's brown colors when the reviews arrives.

cant wait as RE4 was one of my fav games
I don't think we'll see better graphic than this+killzone 2, what do you peeps think?
well well, put a dick in my mouth I'm impressed!

I'd agree that this, Killzone 2, and Gears 2 currently look to have the best console graphics.
I'm definitely super-stoked for this...can't wait!
nice pics, heh wonder if Chris and Sheva get into a relationship later ;)
But i think also its because it just doesnt seem to be the survival horror resident evil once was, not just in opting for a more action stance, but also the atmospheric tones of the setting itself... there was always a danger placing a game in the sunlit deserts of Africa to deliver the same atmospheric scares as dark dampend corridoors.
I dunno.. i think it'll definatly be a good game, but i think if you want jump out scares then i don't think this will be the game to offer them... should probably point your eyes to Dead space for that.
The textures are pretty bad if you ask me.
This along with Gears 2 and Killzone 2 are the top in console graphics. The attention to detail in RE5 is amazing.
You have strange tastes.

I really hope they've worked on the clipping issues though, the E3 footage was really let down by it
Oh well, now we can all merrily be zombies.

but that's just my oppinion...
some of those textures are pretty bad if you ask me.
I mean, many Unreal Engine 3 games have good textures, but at the other hand the shadows are often horrible (all games based on that engine have problems with shadows) and somehow all characters look weird with their skin and hair. But the shadows is what annoy me most.
Look at Killzone 2. It will probably not have the best textures ever, no, but as long as the ground and walls look sharp, and they have that awesome dynamic feel to the look -- with terrific lighting, good AA, great amount of detail, silk smooth animation and impressive particle effects -- who fucking cares about the textures? I mean, Gears of War is a technically nice looking game, but at the same time not. When you're zooming into something you can see the shadows kind of build a "filter" on Marcus skin, wich just look horrible. And alot of objects look horrible compare to the best parts. And overall the game have a almost unrealistic sharpness to it look, especially if you compare to games like Killzone 2 wich looks so smooth and natural :)
Resident Evil 5 kind of have same colour scale as Gears, but here the characters looks natural and really great in terms of detail and sharpness. And theres no odd shadows that ruins the illusion =)
Well I just wish ppl could base graphics on what you actually see and not specs =) Thanks for me and sorry for my horrible english...
I do agree that high res textures are not everything though..
Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one in the whole world you've noticed the horrible shadows in Unreal Engine 3-based games tho :( And I just can't understand why, because I'm not that into graphics... I more care about the graphical design... so then its wierd that I'm annoyed by the shadows in all UE3 games - but I dont think I've seen someone else complain (ppl who otherwise have alot of complaints on games visuals). Theres no problems with those things in, lets say, Uncharted. And if Epic are those "graphic gods" why the heck havent they fixed the shadows yet:S?
Ouch that is going to hurt the Chris or what ever is that dudes name. Knee to the balls or something.

I hate the UE3 shadows too, but Epic themselves seem to have fixed that with Gears 2. I havent noticed any of those terrible shadows
Yeah, lets hope they have fixed it for Gears 2. Although I think I saw a little wierd shadow in the cutscenes in a video diary, but hopefully they have decreased the problem atleast:)
Its really weird that no reviewers or something have written anything about these shadows, when so many developers choose to use that engine. I think thats a pretty big problem tbh
