NBA 2K12 first screenshot

While the NBA might be facing a lengthy lockout with owners and players divided, NBA 2K12 will be there at time hopefully, first screen inside.

I loved playing NBA2k11 but i haven't play it nearly as much as I wish I would. The main reason for this is the difficulty for new comers. I don't really watch NBA or know much about the teams, but I do enjoy basketball.

There should at least be some kind of strategy guide for a complete novice.

Logged in to confirm b0vril's statement. I have been playing sports games for more than 10 years now including FIFA, NHL and NFL.. but when it comes to NBA 2k series, I just get overwhelmed.

I will however try 2k12, because I can clearly see the series is really good.

It's a brilliant series, I've been playing for a long time and each game gets better and better. The graphics are not progressing the way I'd like but it's already a great looking game so not a huge deal.

I play basketball (in real life) almost every day and love the sport w/ a passion, this game is a very fun distraction on days I'm not in the gym myself.

I agree with the first 2 guys. The learning curve is pretty steep for "newbies". I love watching NBA but I don't really have a good grasp of the plays, the difference between PG, SG,.. It would be great if they would include a minimal introduction into using the plays as well as the importance of each position.

But whether we'll see such a thing or not, I'll still be buying this from day 1.

I believe past games had a section where you can run drills to learn how to rebound, shoot, pass, etc better. I don't think it goes into how to run plays but there is an option where it lights up arrows on the court so you know when and where to pass during a play. The real key to doing good in this series is just getting good at guarding your guy if man to man defense or knowing your assignment in a zone defense. As for offense, just make good shot selection and attack the basket often.

Also, shooting off the pass almost always gets a higher chance of going in then shooting off the dribble FYI.

It's all about getting easier open looks and getting the ball in the paint.

GriftGFX I wasn't really setting up any specific comparison at all. I said modern phones and many PCs. That's pretty vague. You can set whatever limits on that you want. (3 Hours ago)

GriftGFX Granted.. synthetic benchmarks are just that.. but in Geekbench 4 a Snapdragon 835 can outperform a Q9550.. which is definitely faster than the E6600. (4 Hours ago)

GriftGFX My personal history of personal computing goes back to 8-bit computers. I think 2017 ARM CPUs are amazing. (4 Hours ago)

GriftGFX @droezelke: I said E6600.. and its single core performance in synthetic benchmarks is certainly comparable. But yes. You can go back to the 80s. I didn't say anything about them being modern. (4 Hours ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke @GriftGFX: no, a snapdragon 835 does not have computing power of a Q6600 (9 years old). Do you really want to go further in time to prove your statement made sense? (4 Hours ago)
