You're right, but NBA players do not use baggy jerseys anymore, they use them tighter these days, and 2K Sports haven't done anything about that.
fine by me- looks impressive this way. I don't get why it isn't used more in games- it really makes a huge difference!...
Basketball is kinda perfect for this sort of tech. Few players, small court, not much else going on, camera close enough in to warrent it. Now compare that to fifa...it'd be wasted/too power hungry. Too many players, too large of a pitch, camera too far out to notice.
The fight night games where also perfect for this sort of thing with the boxers shorts, and did it better imo.
Why it isn't in things like tekken etc is beyond me, but i'd assume it could have something to do with the outfit itself. I'm guessing collision is less complicated when it's uber baggy shorts and baggy jerseys. It still goes wrong quite a bit though.
I don't think we see it much because it's either pointless due to having few ways to show it off, or would be too resource hungry for the games which could show it off (like a third person shooter or something)

I never thought Fight Nights cloth sim ever came close( although the last 2 games were still decent). It's just like it is in their own(EAs) basket ball franchise...
