The gameplay looks great though..
Looks pretty cool to me then.. always loved the series.. looks like another step forward to me..
"will make Japanese gamers sit up and notice the Dreamcast 360"'s wimpy hardware and mediocre peecee titles.
Stop wasting everyone's time MS.
The picture quality I've no gripes with apart from some screen tearing that they'll probably sort out, it's just that the panhandle camera and the GR2 style strafing (riverdance like) is miles away from what the E3 video showed and there's no going back for me. This may well be a fantastic game, and I'm quite sure it will be (I mean gameplay wise the perspective/animation won't actually change the content) but the position they put themselves in is still a fact. There's just no avoiding certain disappointment if they can't meet that quality of animation aswell.
It's just a damn shame, and something that hurts me deeply to realise. It does however confirm once AGAIN that releasing bullshit preview footage is a disservice to both consumers and the developers themselves. I even said "and this is REALTIME" too many times to count because I just didn't think Ubi were capable of decieving their fans like that.
All that said, I still keep my fingers crossed that they can deliver something reminicent of that they showed at first, and if they don't then I'll just have to judge the game on the merits of the product they present, regardless of how difficult that may be.
I just hope we'll never get the pre-rendered preview nonsense ever again, as I for one want to follow E3 and be swept away by what is shown there without the suspicion that it might be some fluffy pink dream sequence of what they might achieve if they even decide to stick to that vision.
