Several previews for Borderlands 2 have surfaced and this led of crouse to new screenshots of the shoot-and-loot game from Gearbbox. It will be out on September 18 (21st in Europe). Update: 6 screens added.
I`m really hyped for this title! I liked the first one and can`t wait to see what they do with the new weapon system.
The new screens show a large amount of detail in the game, and although it`s a cel-shaded affair, you cannot argue that the level of intricacy here is outstanding imo!

The screens don't look especially crazy to me, modern games even on consoles can use post processed AA to some extend, check out the recent American Nightmare as it has an incredibly jaggy free appearance due to what I assume is some lovingly applied FXAA equivalent along with a native 4x from the 360 itself and most probably an additional layer of 2x from the game itself (maybe 4x, I forget). My PC can apply a great amount of AA both native, driver level and stuff like injecting FXAA or SMAA which make games look buttery smooth at lower resolutions. Of course the higher resolution you go the less you actually need those AA solutions.
Basically what I'm saying is maybe the biggest lie from this screens is the resolution, you can be pretty sure that the console versions will not be running at anything above 720, let alone the slightly above 1080 these screens are at.
First one was a complete suprise for me. I Had completely discounted it, but it turned out to be a load of fun!
These screens look amazing! Hope it doesn't contract "Curse of the Sequel".

nice bullshots. gameplay video that comes with this looks nothing like those screens.
Why must people spend so much energy being so unnecessarily negative?
What insight do you have that these are "bullshots"? I'm sure if you're running Borderlands 2 on PC, it'll look *just like that*, since these screenshots are obviously taken from the PC build of the game.
What people who like to bitch don't understand about screenshots is that;
1. It makes NO SENSE to present a screenshot that looks bad, since people are ready to shit on you for the slightest problem anyway.
2. You take shots on a machine that allows you to get the best angle for the shot, to highlight the elements best.
3. Games look totally different in motion, so you need to pick ones that don't look awkward in stills.
This is how EVERYONE does it.
These shots look completely reasonable, with little-to-no touch-up whatsoever. I am confident that the game will look like this and these look GREAT.
This game finally has native AA support too, which should make it look awesome. I think it also supports nvidia's new AA (TXAA? I forget) on their GTX 680.

It's a PC game. So, basically, shut the fuck up.
And stop with the stupid "bullshot" complaints. NO one gives two fucks about aliasing in screenshots, and AA and AF are almost certainly the only differences between these sshots and sya a console version of the game is A) HUD and B) aliasing and texture filtering. On a PC, it will look like this, except maybe some won't be possible from the player's PoV. Which is fine. Screenshots of nothing but the game being played form the players pov wouldn't be a very classy way to show off a game. And it's ok to show off a game in different ways. This isn't a review, it's a media package.

Well anything really will support TXAA, just not natively. I played the original Borderlands with AA sans the line effect because I think it actually looks better (the line effect was always much too thick for my taste, especially at 1080 and above) looked so damn good, it'll be nice if I can get that without doing some janky stuff to turn off the line effect and without the weird artifacting on the UI. I'm also really glad it's not so colorless. I actually usually turn off the DoF and Bloom effect in Borderlands because it actually makes the game much more vibrant and colorful to play without, so I'm stoked at how damned colorful this game is.

Me too, but in almost every game. Depth of field especially.. and motion blur. They're really awful in most games.
Disregarding whether they are bullshots or not, those are pretty much the best looking screens I've seen for any game lol. :O Between the colors, the detail of the comic book look. Geez!

As of now I don't like them that much, also killing feedback and weapon punch seems lacking.
Looks fantastic now, alot of different colors, locations and art and species.
