Both the title and the image of this news should have brought back to you the sweet memory of Grand Raid Offroad, which became the pleasant but far from perfect Fuel. Unhappily Off-Road Driver isn't an open-world racer at all but it will offer you to take part in many off-road events all around the world. Let's hope that its physics engine and its driving will follow! Till then, here are two image galleries, a trailer and a press release.
Press Release :
Off-Road Drive is the first game ever to deliver a true-to-life, off-road, racing experience. Players will take part in The Russian Trophy, Off-Road Trial, Thai Trophy and many other events through the worst driving conditions such as swamps, rocks, snow and sand.
Featuring the largest variety of off-road sport vehicles, Off-Road Drive includes tuned stock SUVs and trucks, as well as several classes of prototypes specifically built for extreme driving. The vehicles can be equipped with an assortment of special cross-country equipment and accessories including winches, low gear, differential gear locking, GPS, clinometer, altimeter, tire air pressure control, sand tracks, etc.
Featuring the most innovative simulation of interactive terrain response, vehicles will act just like they do in real life; Cars will sink in the dirt and the dirt will create a rut which will stick to the cars and tires affecting their handling. Stones will fly from underneath the wheels and damage other trucks. The game will feature various surfaces that will not only affect tire friction but have complex reactions based on car weight, speed, wheel torque, tire condition, time on this surface, depth of car immersion into the surface and much more.
* Leading international off-road championships
* Racing and mud bogging
* Tough challenges and obstacles to beat
* Special off-road equipment and accessories (Lowered gearing, front/rear locking differentials, winch, etc.)
It's performance related. Also, people underestimate the point of correct calibration. Having the 3d just off slightly for your eyes can cause bad eye strain, thus leading to nausea. (48 minutes ago)
I think motion sickness can be alleviated in future to the point where it won't be that much of a deal breaker. I noticed playing on Pro is a hell of a lot more comfortable than the standard PS4. (49 minutes ago)
And that's entirely possible. I can imagine RE8 being that way. Having to physically aim down iron sights to get a headshot on a zom would be immense, but scary as fuck. (51 minutes ago)
As good as RE7 was in VR, it could have been even better if they had a control scheme for it that allowed for free hand movement interaction. (52 minutes ago)
Capcom have since said they are setting up a team to focus more on VR stuff, which is promising. (53 minutes ago)
i'd love for the game to have a combat system as deep as DMC3 or even GOW. with a traversal system that actually uses some skill to land jumps and move around. (53 minutes ago)
@Sdarts: i did. i didn't like it. traversal become even more tedious having to grapple gun everywhere due to wide streets and combat still had dudes taking turns to kill you. (55 minutes ago)
