I gotta say I didn't like this game when I first picked it up. It looked pretty dated (It's using an old engine on steroids) but it grew on me as I kept playing.
Now I must say it's a worth representative of the Splinter Cell franchise.
The game is immense, has a lot of weapons and locations, coop is awesome and there are a variety of missions to keep you entertained at any point, where you can get money and buy more equipment.
The game can look great in daylight scenarios, but considerably lacks appeal at night. Lighting is very old school and the use of DX11 effects is very limited... This would be a Triple A game If it only had a better graphics engine...
I hope Ubisoft pushes it hard for the next installment. AC4 Engine would be very welcome.

I too was concerned and even got into an argument with Gamersyde's founder (i guess). It felt like a dated looking gun blazing insult for a series. (kudos to the marketing team) Heck, how wrong i was, biggest surprise of a year. Everything i love Splinter Cell for is here and a lot more. Yes, it does look dated still but details win you over: from exeptional facial expressions to versatile mission layout. Great game.

As honored as I am that you should believe I am GSY's founder, I'm not. :)
But I don't think we've ever had an argument over Splinter Cell, I simply tried to reassure you after playing the preview code because the trailers were terribly misleading. ;)
