Our videos of Gears of War UE

Our videos of Gears of War UE

Our friend CpRBe was kind enough to capture three 1080p/60fps videos of the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition beta which has been available for a few days on Xbox One. He told us he was quite rusty as he hadn't played the game for ages but if it's any consolation, it'd have been worse if I had been playing.

No release in Germany planned (because Germans can't handle bile, blood and gibs). German USK is as tiresome as is Gema for music. But i'm sure UK retailers will gladly sell it on to us poor bastards :-)

I thought this kind of censorship already ended in Germany. I remember my friend got Mortal Kombat II on SNES and there was no blood in it. :-D Fatalities looked like popping popcorn.

A German friend of mine said that censorship is really heavy in Germany. it affects movies, TV shows and even cartoons. Some examples he gave me were of some cartoons' episodes that were so heavily butchered that they went from 23-24 minutes to 8-11 minutes.

Seems they have very strict non-violence laws in effect - maybe even stricter than Australia's, which is why a lot of people either import or resort to non legal means for movies, TV shows, cartoons and even games.

Another thing that the German goverment also censure is almost anything related to Nazi/World War II history. Even if it is for academic purposes.

Of course this was a few years back, not sure if the German goverment has changed these censure laws. Below is a Google search with a few examples of German (and American) censorship in animes - Naruto's Zabusa with an invisible cleaver is really funny.

I keep hearing Australia's laws are even more rigorous than Germany's but it sucks either way. This goes as far that even music is affected, i.e. Ramstein's album 'Liebe ist für alle da' was censored too (not that i care for Ramstein's music but...)
Censorship in Germany means:
1.) You may not sell a banned item openly and
2.) You're not allowed to advertise a banned item
Of course neither Microsoft nor retailers won't bother then if retailers can't just simply put it on their shelves. If you're trading Nazi or WW2 stuff (like old SS-flags or bayonets for ex.) you can go even go to jail. I don't mind Nazis going to jail, but not to be able to just buy me sth that's available for everyone in their respective countries is quite annoying sometimes.

Oh yea, here's another shiny example for german censorship

Thanks to both of You for replies. Well...I´m living right next to Germany (Czech Republic) and everything is fine here (speaking of games). Lucky me. :-) But of course, gamers in Germany have their own way, how to get the "juicy copies" of more violent games.

Wow, that's even worse than I thought. Censorship always does more harm than good, but they eventually end. Good luck to you guys!

That Soldiers of Fortune image is hilarious. Zombies FTW!!! =P

Yes, you can easily confuse them with zombies, although they're meant to be robots. Just shows how bad it was 'censored' :-D
To get the 'juicy' copies is quite simple. As long as it's multi language i can just buy them 15 kilometers from here in France, hehe

Damn. Unreal Engine 3 sure looks good at 1080p/60fps.

Totally, man I really wish they bring all of them to the PC as well lets hope so. I really hope the new one will get released as well on the PC it looked really awesome. MS seems to be cross releasing more(or plan to) on the PC these days I am still shocked they are bringing KI to the PC.

  • droezelke
droezelke @nostradamus: I'm not talking about the events, but how it all works together. I just read you can create a group by honking at recruits. This is not explained in the game eg. (1 Hour ago)
  • nostradamus
nostradamus @droezelke: FH1. Just doing races against the rivals, airplanes/copters and discovering along was way more fun than going in for the P2P championships. (2 Hours ago)

GriftGFX Nintendo'so first party stuff on WiiU was relatively bad in 2016 but they still have the best first party this gen. (2 Hours ago)

droezelke @nostradamus: What does Forza 1 have to do with it? Completely different game. Or did you mean FH1? (2 Hours ago)
