digi_matrix I don't think you've played enough Metro, because there is humor in these games to offset. Uhlman in 2033 was pretty much comedic relief. Call of Duty takes itself more seriously than Metro. (4 Hours ago) -

I was surprised by the mediocre reviews it received, i maybe expected that for the console versions but not the PC. Apparently the combat still ain't all that, but what RPG truly does get this right? Well...scratch that..Witcher 2 so far definitely does that awesome.

I thought Dragons Dogma demo had nice combat, Amalur is good too. I cant think of any other.
The combat in the first Risen wasn't anything to write home about either, and boy did i love that game. I actually played and finished the 360 version, which was a quite bad port, but i knew how deep Piranha Bytes games were, and i knew i had to press on. When i accepted the questionable controls and combat, i started to love it. The 360 version from what i've seen definitely seems to be a much better port this time around...so i can see myself buying it in august. We'll see.
