Trials Fusion, first "next-gen" title in the now famous Trials series, has been released today. Ubisoft sent us the PS4 version of the game a few days ago, and as a big fan of the series since Trials HD I just had to record a few videos and give you my impressions!
What's new and interesting in this new game compared to the previous ones? The playable ATVs are a nice addition to the series, but their gameplay does not allow as much finesse as the bikes and in the end they seem more like an afterthought in the whole game. The FMX (stunt) mode adds quite a lot of replayability to the levels for the most hardcore fans, but is also not that big a revolution in terms of gameplay, which remains exactly the same as before in the end. That being said, it's not a bad thing at all!
Technically and graphically this first "next-gen" release isn't revolutionary either. The game looks great with much more details than before, and runs in 1080p in the PS4 version tested, but also doesn't manage a perfectly smooth 60 fps all the time. A patch was available when we got the game a few days ago, but we don't know if it was the "day 1" patch that was supposed to fix the framerate issues or not (no patches as of this morning, at least). Even if it remains as it is, the game is still as playable as the ones before in the series, but it would be a bit of a disappointment.
As many expected, Trials fusion is without a doubt an evolution more than a revolution. But then again many people, me included, consider the gameplay of this series as close to perfect as it can be. A much recommended title then, unless of course you are not interested in this type of game or are starting to get tired of the Trials series.
i liked the place though. had no bans, good discussions, very liberal. just hoping someone makes a new home. (51 minutes ago)
@Moonwalker: he came across as a bioware apologist. and got a lot of flack for acting like the game was better than it turned out to be. that was weird though. (53 minutes ago)
his opinion on Mass Effect Andromeda. Which he happened to really enjoy. (1 Hour ago)
It definitely was one of the most weird forums I've been on though. I mean they had insiders like Shinobi602 and he pretty much got bullied off of Neogaf and unless I'm mistaken only because he shared (1 Hour ago)
If it stays offline I'm pretty sure someone will start a new forum. Maybe not one of the former mods, hopefully not, lmao, but perhaps one of the many posters there? We'll see. (1 Hour ago)
he's too scared of losing his subs and his youtube personality "friends" that he won't condemn stuff that is so blatantly wrong. (1 Hour ago)
So yeah, gaming discussion was the best and only place to roam around really, lol. (1 Hour ago)
