Our videos of Wander

Wander will be released tomorrow on PC and PS4 and it's really hard to believe considering that the PC version we were sent is not even worthy of the Alpha title. To find out why, read our opinion inside and watch our two gameplay videos.

Aside from the fact that this MMO seems pretty limited gameplay-wise, it will most probably be remembered for its numerous bugs and glitches. The main character refuses to run all of a sudden (which wouldn't be a big deal if it weren't for the fact that she walks more slowly than a dead snail). She can go through rocks or the ground, just like in the very first 3D games of yore. In her human form, she seems so small in first person view that Killzone's heroes look like NBA players. Final example, sometimes she likes to swim in the air after launching the game because yesterday we had decided to go for a swim before quitting - which always causes the game to crash to make things worse. As it is now, this game cannot be taken seriously sadly, and we're all the more disappointed as we really thought it would be nice to explore the environment. Unless the team behind the game does something very quickly or the PS4 version is radically different, we can only advise you to stay away from it.

Note: It's not Gamersyde's habit to show bugs in videos but we really had no choice considering the current state of the game.

Wow! You really dug at it, Drift. I actually like criticism like that, so please keep it up. And I prefer you guys show bugs, when they're immersion or game breaking ones, it gives us a better idea of the state of a game.

I really didn't think this game was going to be out this soon. The first trailer for the game was really bad and all the janky animations just made the game look worse.

Though I was interested in what a non-combat MMO would bring to entice players to play and continue playing. Maybe it would bring a fresh and very creative experience. But I guess that's not the case.

Thanks for the warning!

After seeing this mess it'll be hard for anyone to hate on Witcher 3's graphics. :P

How did this pass quality control at Sony?

They may not have succeeded in creating a playable game but they have created a new game genre - Comedy non-combat MMO - Wow this is in the class of so bad its good.

No it's not.

This reminds me of Digital Foundry's article on the PS4 version of Ultra Street Fighter 4 (link below):

"When a port of a seven-year-old game ships in such a state, aimed at such a dedicated fanbase, but comparing poorly to the PC and even the Xbox 360 releases, you have to wonder about the state of quality control in the industry these days."

Face-Off: Ultra Street Fighter 4 on PS4 - Is the new port really that bad? Digital Foundry investigates.

Seems like "quality control" is a thing of the past now that companies can always patch games. This is such a far cry from the old days when developers spent weeks and months bug testing their games to death.

They already did. Its called Goat Simulator. The only difference is that was INTENTIONALLY funny.
I just said it on Eurogamer earlier on the article about the new patch for SF IV for PS4, but is every major game in 2015 and going forward going to be required to reach version 1.05 before we can purchase them?

And its quite baffling that one of the most overly criticised games of the year so far, The Order 1886, was finished at launch. They added a photo-mode afterwards but that was about it. But Project Cars, The Witcher 3 and Bloodborne all get a free pass. Can't wait to play Fallout 4 on launch day :S (and I love Fallout but I'm dreading the first 5 months of the game's launch, especially when Playstation is my primary console).

Didn't even know something like this is considered a game.

What the hell was their plan? Where were they going with this?

About the game

What's up?
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: Speaking of Spiders, I finished Technomancer yesterday. Fun game but dragged down by WAY too much backtracking and lack of different locations. (55 minutes ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: I'm not far enough into the game yet but I heard the game world is very interesting and full of great quests with multiple choices. Those kinda things sound great to me. (57 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog i honestly think they'd do better making something on a smaller scale. like an isometric action RPG. that spiders (developer) could do with going that direction too. (1 Hour ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it just looks like a typical game from them to me. like they bit off more than they can chew and the results are just mediocrity across the board. (1 Hour ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: the facial animations are bullshit yes, animations in general are passable, combat isn't nearly as bad as I expected though. The world so far has been great, very very nice indeed. (2 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it still looks all kinda of garbage though. lol (2 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker tearing was horrible, not to mention loading times. Plus it really doesn't look too bad either. Trees and foliage swaying in the wind, nice lighting. Good job PB. course all the jank is still there :) (2 Hours ago)
