First 10 minutes PS3

Zack Zero is a PSN exclusive which was released not long ago and we thought it might be interesting to show you the game in action and tell you what we thought about it. This new platformer may not stand out at first glance, but the powers of the main character, the puzzles and the different combos available make it quite a pleasant title to play. To find out more, join me inside.

If all you are looking for in a game is a great story, then it's probably best to forget about Zack Zero. Indeed, the first title of Spanish developer Crocodile Entertainment keeps it pretty simple. Artistically speaking though, they have undoubtedly done a very good job as their game will probably remind you of beauties such as Trine and LittleBigPlanet. So yes, there is some kind of family tie when it comes to visuals, but that's not all actually. Indeed, Zack Zero also share a few gameplay mechanics.

The different powers you possess allow to solve puzzles, all of them offering more or less variety. Moreover, like in LBP, there are several planes of depth on the side-scrolling screen, and quite similarly to Media Molecule's game, this is where the controls lack precision. The fact that the character sometimes glides on his own from one plane of depth to another does not help either. That being said, it's all manageable and overall the controls respond well so gameplay is not affected in the end. In a nutshell, Zack Zero is definitely worth a look if you are into side-scrolling games, and though it's not perfect, it is still fun to play.

Enemies who will never fail to surprise you
Wild natives of the Nahirg race, enormous worms, Zulog’s personal army, dangerous combat droids, terrible humanoid toads, giant beetles, stone golems… up to 30 different enemies will attempt to put stop to your adventure.

The power of fire, ice and stone at your disposalThe nanotechnology of Zack’s suit grants you unique powers which will make you almost invincible. Cover your enemies in flames, freeze time in order to avoid mortal traps or convert your fist into stone and knock down insuperable obstacles ...

An easy and intuitive control system which recovers the spirit of classic platform games:

Hack'n'Slash: take advantage of the huge variety of attacks available to Zack and use them in a creative way to finish off his enemies, develop the main character to level 20 and reach his maximum power.

Adventure: find hidden objects in the depths of each level. All challenging for the most experienced of treasure hunters.

lmao, funny s**t... trow effects like a dumb bastard child just for the sake of it and call it AAA. Just the DOF creates a horrible look on the game. Oh Trine, why can't devs dream to be as good as your tech and superior superior superior art?

AAA? Not even remotely. The art direction is all over the place and the 2d art is really sub par :P

But hey, maybe it's fun to play? I have no idea.
