Zack Zero is a PSN exclusive which was released not long ago and we thought it might be interesting to show you the game in action and tell you what we thought about it. This new platformer may not stand out at first glance, but the powers of the main character, the puzzles and the different combos available make it quite a pleasant title to play. To find out more, join me inside.
If all you are looking for in a game is a great story, then it's probably best to forget about Zack Zero. Indeed, the first title of Spanish developer Crocodile Entertainment keeps it pretty simple. Artistically speaking though, they have undoubtedly done a very good job as their game will probably remind you of beauties such as Trine and LittleBigPlanet. So yes, there is some kind of family tie when it comes to visuals, but that's not all actually. Indeed, Zack Zero also share a few gameplay mechanics.
The different powers you possess allow to solve puzzles, all of them offering more or less variety. Moreover, like in LBP, there are several planes of depth on the side-scrolling screen, and quite similarly to Media Molecule's game, this is where the controls lack precision. The fact that the character sometimes glides on his own from one plane of depth to another does not help either. That being said, it's all manageable and overall the controls respond well so gameplay is not affected in the end. In a nutshell, Zack Zero is definitely worth a look if you are into side-scrolling games, and though it's not perfect, it is still fun to play.

Doom or any fast paced fps must play pretty terrible with a gamepad. (2 minutes ago)
@KORNdog: Thanks for that. him liking the game despite: "It even has its own version of Ubisoft’s weary “radio tower” mapping system that has become something of an industry joke." is VERY good news (14 minutes ago)
@MrWhite: Same here. After the many positive comments on NeoGAF and other forums I was expecting more. The gunplay and the sounds of it don't do it at all for me. Maybe just too fast paced for me. (24 minutes ago)
Yeah, wasn't a big fan of the new Doom myself. Bit of a let down. (26 minutes ago)
@alimokrane: [url] also a good read. given this is someone who didn't review far cry 4 well (a game horizon is oft compared to) (28 minutes ago)
