Looks like a 1/1 port. Hm... how have been the reviews for the 360-version? About 7/10 mostly, or am I wrong there?

Pretty okay game. I enjoyed the demo, but didn't feel it would really be worth paying for, or even playing for any real period of time. Nothing really for PS3 fans to be excited about and the "enhcanced port" probably just means it includes the DLC.

I'm currently playing the game, and while it's not groundbreaking, it does have a lot of character which makes playing the game really fun, even when you've been given some tedious task to complete in order to advance the game. I'd say it's worth a rental, at the very least.

Wow, PS3 gets all the fresh games, eh? ;)

No but seriously, Overlord is a rather entertaining title. Like said it's not a revolutionary game in any way but the characters are fun and easy to like and comes with some fun gameplay to boot. So this is good news for any PS3 owner that hasn't played it already.

But wtf is up with the Overlord's armor? Looks like crap.

i really enjoyed it...up to a point. once your tasked with defeating bosses using every type of elemental demon i just gave up. the controls arnt intuative enough to get things done in a speedy manner. you end up sending water guys into battle accidently when you really wanted to send in your regular fighters. it is a good game tho, very strong fable vibes artistically.

Well, the thing is, the demo is about as fun as it gets. The first level is actually pretty fun where you run around with your brain dead little minions in a place which is heavily influenced with Shire from LOTR. Though after that level is another story. The next worlds consists of a night elf themed forest, and some kind of castle which has been overrun by the undead.

Both of them are very dark and in my opinion not even near as satisfying as the first world which is light and open. The whole theme of the game also changes alot, as in the beginning you are this great overlord who is about to conquer the world, but has unexpectedly lost all of the respect from the villagers and is simply on a quest to beat the living crap out of the entire world so that they will fear and respect you again. Later though, you change from being the predator into being the prey. The enemies are "scarier" and tougher (in a bad way) and the civilians now consists of undead elves which you can't even kill, but they can kill you, and some humans who have been driven away from their homes by zombies.

Also, later in the game you will get three more additional kinds of minions. One which can run through fire and throw fire balls, one which can run through water and heal, and one who can run through poison and do some kind of stealth attacks. The problem is that because the controls are seriously flawed, it's nearly impossible to order your minions around especially when you are in combat. They don't even got any kind of intelligence either, e.g. if you order your minions to attack your fire minions won't even try to stay at distance and as soon as they get into melee you cant simply call them back.

Also, you will have to do a bunch of puzzles later in the game where you are required to use some specific minions to solve each of them. But again the controls just doesn't work well enough, and the puzzles themselves aren't even that fun to begin it.

In end, the game had some potential to at least be a 7/10 "good fun" game, but eventually it simply kill itself with all too over complicated gameplay elements and the fact that you don't even feel evil in the later levels as you are actually forced to help the civilians instead of ruining their lives which made the first part fun to begin with. The game should have simply stayed at running around terrorizing villagers in a mix of Black & White and Fable.

This game is a really terrible game... Unimpressive tech, horrid gameplay (what's so great about leading your guys around and having them do all the work?? Your guy is too weak to take on the enemies without his minions doing most of the work >.<) A lot of the stuff is pretty much ripped off from one IP or another, whether its Lord of the Rings, Fable, etc. So a PS3 version is hardly big news in my opinion...

This game is a really terrible game...
For me as well.

Why port this?
If it didn't sell good enough on X360, they have no chance with the PS3 and especially if it's a crappy port it's going to make people spit on PS3 again.

Didn't Codemasters just officially shoot down the rumor of a PS3 version of this game like a week ago? Well anyway, I enjoyed this game on 360. Glad PS3 is getting more games even if they are ports.
