Sweet. I'm hoping to get into the beta as the demo at PAX was ridiculously fun, but I also wanted to see how the PC and Xbone versions stacked up visually.
Hey, the performance seems really uneven, is that from the capture method or is that representative of actual performance? And if so, what are the specs of the system?

I think the capture software causes some drops in the framerate, without it's smooth.

I've added my system spec to the news.

Do I see a lot of lag or is it deceiving? Most of the enemies you killed, didn't even fire 1 shot at you, like they didn't know you were there.

Many are bots, weak bots, they can stare at you some seconds before firing.

Hi, can you alter the bot's difficulty or is it locked for the beta?

And if you can alter the bot's difficulty, can you, please, try different levels and post your impressions for us?

Since Titanfall relies a lot on the bots, I believe I'm not the only one interested in knowing how they stack up with different difficulty levels as a game with little or excessive challenge will turn off a lot of players.

Thanks in advance, Miguel.

Finally, some good looking footage of this game. Even though other places like Eurogamer or Giant Bomb can do 60fps on their videos, this being crystal clear quality at 1080p is fantastic and why I always love the way Gamersyde sets the standard.

The beta uses playlists, so we can't do private games with our own settings (but we will be able in the final game).

Five new videos incoming in the next hour, all from the Hardpoint mode (domination), on both maps.
In these videos I use different classes and Titans loadouts.

I was not able to try the Last Titan Standing mode, there were no players in the West European zone when I tried, maybe tomorrow.

That Titan AI doesn't seem too smart. In the first video it keeps telling the pilot he is outnumbered 2 to 1 when there is another teammate right in front of him.

But it does look like a lot of fun. I haven't been interested in a multiplayer FPS in a long time. I'll definitely be giving this one a go.

BTW. How many years have we been using the term "multiplayer" in the English language, but it still comes up as a misspelled word?

Who's playing in the Angel City #1 video? That person played pretty well.

Can you play this game ONLY with bots exclusively?

Thanks for the reply and all the videos, Miguel.

My fear is that the bots' AI won't pose much of a challenge and the only challenge will be from other players, but I will have to wait till the final version comes out to confirm.

Either way, the game looks amazing and a lot of fun.

The bots aren't supposed to pose a challenge. That in itself I am not concerned with, but the fact that they pad the scoreboard so heavily (towards the win condition) is pretty disappointing.

Especially since the levels look large enough to have some more legitimate combat going down. But ya know.. that's just my impression from watching it. I can't wait to play it.. the basic gameplay looks fulfilling.

The bots look like they're there to make people feel like they're awesome. Because everyone is a winner yo.

I have to wonder if the player count isn't actually because of Azure. Less players = more lobbies.

Doesn't look next gen but, this game is all about the gameplay like COD. Very arcadey, which i'm not really into, but my brother would like this.

I don't expect the bots to be on the same level as human players, but on a game with a 6v6 mode and 12-24 bots, I would like to be challenged not just by human players, but the AI as well, otherwise, why are they even there?!

As for making you feel awesome, that wears off really fast if there's no challenge to it, personally, I'm not vain enough that I would feel like a "badass" because I did some awesome kills on low level enemies.

On Warframe you can do awesome kills and moves almost all the time, but the really rewarding experience is fighting high level enemies outnumbered and outleveled in ways that require you to use the most of your abilities, reflexes, skill and knowledge to not only survive, but also to succeed against all odds. And making awesome parkour moves in hard to do angles and in creative ways most people haven't even thought of.

I used Warframe as an example, but any game is like that for me, hence why I almost always play on the hardest difficulty setting, if Titanfall's AI bots are too weak or pose no "real" threat to me, then I would rather they not be there at all and just leave 12 human players duking it out to see who's best.

If the bots are there to fight and defend the team's objective, I expect them to do so with effort, because like in real life, if you're not going to dedicate to something, then why even do it?!

Again, this is my personal opinion and how I like to play games, some people like to relax and have a walk in the park, which is great and all, but it's something that's just not for me.

Here's a quote to think about: "A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor". =)

I don't suppose Gamersyde could up some 3D recorded footage if possible?

We can't do that I'm afraid.

As nice & clean & high-res as this game looks it seems pretty dull visually. Art direction seems generic, it's one of the reasons I never cared much for this title. Though I am sure it's good fun. Just doesn't look very interesting at all to me.

After playing it, i dont see the exagerated hype for it.

Its basically COD without perks and killstreaks, add robots and manuevering and random AI bots, thats it.
After my 5th match i just though it got too repetitive by then.

I love these descriptions. They crack me up. It's basically Call of Duty, but without a bunch of things and with a bunch of other things!

I could care less how this game does what its supposed to do, as long as it sells okay.

I say that because Respawn initially made this game for 360, ported the engine to X1, and being the architechture difference (not only hardware wise but API wise) they weren't able to really do what they should be able to do with the X1 hardware.

This game selling good however, will ensure that Respawns next game WILL be good. As long as they can get some money in their pocket, expect them to deliver another game in a couple of years, be it Titanfall 2, or a brand new IP (hopefully, I don't want to see the Infinity Ward shmucks screwing around with old tech like they did CoD), and it will be much, much better than this one.

Which believe it or not, according to E3, says a hell of a lot.

Respawn isn't even developing the 360 port.

After spending plenty of time with Beta i'm torn.
It is influenced heavily by Respawn's previous works as Infinity Ward. The general speed, depth and locomotion evoke Modern Warfare 2 especially
On the other hand Titan's circle-strafe and quick-dodge mechanic where the combat is all about lateral agility is so different and glorious you can easily forget about any other flaw.

Is it fun? matter of personal preference, but I think the hype is pretty exagerated.

Though I do love how fast and mobile the movement is in this game, but thats something I will always prefer in shooters.

I am also surprised cloaking isnt overpowered since thats something in sci fi shooters usually are.

IMO they should remove the AI bots all together if they cant do it right, they are just cheap XP boosters, I rather have them add more players rather than having random AI bots and then you not knowing if they are players or AI until you kill them or aim at them. And the AI sucks, no idea what got them thinking its a good idea to add them to begin with.

Though I enjoy spawning a Titan and putting it into auto mode while I am still running around, double the chance of XP killing so thats nice.

For me, is it fun? sure, but for how long? Based on the beta and other gameplay videos i seen, its pretty repetitive. Maybe a cheaper price purchase or something.

It's pretty good. More later. Too busy playing.

The "bots" really aren't threats nor are they designed to be. And they're only really critical to the core gametype that uses them to feed your cooldown. The real game is clearly between players. That said, I would very much like to see gametypes that forgoes bots all together. Last Titan Standing is pretty close and is the big winner when it comes to a more tactical/competitive approach. They're still there though.. and don't actually serve any purpose in that gametype. They shouldn't be in domination either.

So yeah.. I say keep attrition and build on what is already a pretty interesting game-type.. but there's little to no reason for them not to make an AI-free mode. The big-boy game is really the HAWKEN-like mech game.
