PC videos : Halo 5 Forge

Since a few days Halo 5: Forge is available for free on PC, it allows players to create and modify Halo 5 maps from a Windows 10 PC and share it with Xbox One players. It's also possible to play custom games in all the Arena maps, an update will add a custom games browser. So here are flyby videos of some maps, in max quality and 4K downsampled to 1080p. Note: framedrops are caused by the capture, the game being perfectly smooth otherwise.

I'm surprised by the pop-in textures, lights and shadows. It looks good, but I see no reason why they restricted the view distance for PC.

It's a pretty straight port.. even though they added a bunch of necessary features. It's still kinda bare bones.

Like most UWP stuff it doesn't even support full screen mode.

Driftwood's capture PC is fine now :D

I captured these videos, but in an unusual way, Mirillis Action makes the game stutter, ShadowPlay lose some frames in the recording, too bad, I could do 1440p60 videos.
So I had to use my AverMedia U3 to capture (limited to 1080p60), but I don't have a PC dedicated to capture, so I used my Surface Pro 2 and it's CPU is a bit too weak to record long videos, so sometimes it stutters.

I tried recording my PC by itself via the AverMedia U3, seems to work well, I'll do some more testing in more demanding games.

Like most UWP stuff it doesn't even support full screen mode.
It does, in a new way, UWP games and apps run in a new fullscreen mode, where VSync can be disabled, but all is seamless, the screen does not blink a few times like the exclusive fullscreen.
For example, everytime a notification or the app's top bar or taskbar is shown, the game exits this mode, it's visible when vsync is off, tearing disappears because Windows forces vsync.

I mostly use Mirillis Action to record games, and with UWP games it's almost impossible when they use this mode unless I force Action to be on top, but then the game can't enter UWP's fullscreen mode (making Halo stutter but not Forza).
