Sure that's not a rendered intro? Doesn't look much like the gameplay vids elsewhere on this site.

As soon as I heard the song in that trailer, I had to get up and strip bollock naked and started jiving about the room.

That looks awful.

Looks better but Fifa still kicks it arse in the presintation zone. Aslong as the next gen versions get the full game this time ill be happy ;)

Wow, EA is killing Konami when it comes to quality.
Commented on 2007-09-01 22:31:02 In reply to szaromir
Really? Where is the proof?

The quality in Pro Evo is where it counts - gameplay.
Commented on 2007-09-01 22:58:03
Well, I was never overwhelmed by either PES or FIFA when it comes to gameplay, but technically new soccer games from EA are better.

Graphics wise, you have a point. But I never liked the body models in Fifa, and the faces looked weird, some had big heads and some looked like aliens. The legs looked short and bent, and still do to this day. Pro Evo's player models look better and more natural, and the faces look spot on for some. Fifa has always lagged behind in where it counts, and that's a representation of the game itself. I think it will be no different again this time round.

pro evo never been a good looking game, it was all about gameplay which wins hands down over fifa every time..
I can`t wait and now been able to use live camera to add logos and game faces, looks like we gonna get a full version this time round...

i think FIFA is irresistable this year with all those teams and the game has gotten better with every new title... not to mention this game hasnt changed much since ps2... i ll have to wait until konami really decides to update this one.

This year FIFA for me.
FIFA 08 will probably its flaws and issues, but I really appreciate that beginning last year EA has really been taking FIFA into the next-generation with things like new physics engine last year and now with the new analogue trick system, which is really next-gen to me and vastly improved KI. If they have fixed the issues of the last game and after having played the game already I believe they have fixed most of them, FIFA will be a very good and quality football game. And the new features like "be a pro" and especially the online leagues and the interactive leagues appeal to me and make it a must buy for me. And btw the player models are noticably improved in 08. The whole lightning in the game is much better and the players now look like actual humans.

PES again this year with some little improvements. They are not reinventing the game and bringing it to next-gen, they are still only improving little things to perfectionize their old engine and the only next-gen upgrade are slightly better looking player models.

There's a saying... if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Why should Konami write a new physics engine and game engine when the current one is near perfect? Just because EA are writing a new one to catch up doesn't mean Konami should throw everything away and start again. That's just daft.

ps. I've always preferred the more natural look of PES to Fifa. There's something horrid about the stylised graphics in Fifa which are intended to make it look like a render. It just looks odd. And too cartoony. And there's too many un-natural canned animations in Fifa that make it look forced and, well, wrong. PES always looks right. To my eyes PES looks, and always has looked, better than Fifa - it's an a design choice by the developers, and I just like the aesthetics of PES better. Whether or not there are more or less polygons in play I cannot say. It'd be great to see gobsmacking graphics but it's not gonna happen this time around, maybe not even this gen. But the gameplay should never be more than an evolution, a step towards perfection.

alimokrane @KORNdog: I am talking generally. I hardly buy games at launch these. Bought 2 games at launch this year. ReCore and Gears 4. Last year, it was Rise of TR. that's about it. (1 Hour ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog and you can forgive an awful lot when you're spending so little on something. assuming the issues haven't already been ironed out (case in point, homefront) (1 Hour ago)

KORNdog @Melmoth: exactly. i rarely buy games day one these days. and it's probably why i care so little about reviews. by the time i'm buying a lot of these games they're £15. (1 Hour ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth ofc with online games that might not be optimal, as you wanna join in on the fun as soon as possible, and hopefully before everyone moves on to another game. (1 Hour ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth so if you wait a month, or half a year, you get the game cheap, and hopefully without too many bugs. win/win (1 Hour ago)
