PES 2011 gameplay video

PES 2011 gameplay video

After the nine minutes spent in company of Fifa 11 a few days ago, here comes now a new challenger, PES 2011. Today, we are giving you a full Champions League match opposing Manchester United to Lyon. Since I just got a copy of the game and I have been playing Fifa for the past few years, I did not have time to get used to the new gameplay of Konami's title. That's one of the reasons I had to capture some footage in normal mode, along with the fact that what you see here was really my first match. One last thing before I forget, the version we are showing here was captured on Xbox 360, contrary to what the official sponsors you see around the pitch seem to indicate. Funny, isn't it?

Pales in comparison to FIFA I'm afraid.

That will sound a bit unnecessary, but it's a bit difficult not to compare the two when they're the only current football games on the market.

Agreed. It LOOKS bad. Wonder how it plays though.

Well, I played both FIFA 11 and PES 2011, for a short time, of course.

I could never understand why cirits and many players say that FIFA got a lot more professional and demanding in the last games. Compared to PES I have the feeling that everything is WAY too easy. Still every pass finds its target, most shots are in the net and tackling is a piece of cake. Compared to the FIFAs before, of course you see more demand.

PES 2011 on the other hand went more in the direction of the football simulation the earlier PES got so much praise for. It all feels like real football. The passes feel way less automatic, you have full control over the team's tactics, the ball physics are unmatched and a lot of unexpected moves come up during a game. I have no idea how people think that FIFA got even close to PES in those regards.
I still like FIFA for the licenses, presentation, graphics and the simple arcady feeling it has. When you want a real football simulation, there's no other choice than PES 2011 in my opinion.

sorry but the ball physics in PES11 is not good lol! (based on the demo anyway) and it has far too many small faults which ruin it abit. like player switching, defenders stopping their run, through balls too easy, most shots feel like a chip. its a brand new game and because of that there are these problems

i expect them to fix these issues next year and then it may get more praise

but the passing is revolutionary and i enjoyed the demo so looking forward to it still but PES is nowhere near back yet

Sorry, but PES 2011 plays nothing like the real thing. Absolutely not.

Why do all the players have the same body type! It's 2010! Ronney looks just stupid

FIFA is much closer though. Watch a Premier League game and then play FIFA 11; it's the closest games have ever come to replicating the real thing.

Sorry Ragism, but have you tried Fifa with manual controls? Because the passes and shots are a lot harder then. Furthermore i think that pes is just too easy, at least in pes 2010 i could easily win on the hardest setting while i'm a Fifa player..

What's to *sigh* about, exactly? I watch more football than you - fact. I know what it looks like/how it plays.

I was one of the PES fanboys until PES 2008 was released. Since then I play Fifa and PES but I have to say that nowadays Fifa is much closer to real deal than PES.You got much more midfield "action" and you have to play many crossballs, short passes, passes back to your defenders et cetera to get a chance of scoring. In PES 11 feels much better than the last 2-3 PES games but to say the passing system et. is revolutionary is just plain stupid.

Fifa has this passing system since Fifa 09 or Fifa 10 if you switch the controls to manual. If you switch all things to manual you have a much more satysfying and unpredictable game which feels nothing short compared to PES. Pes has still the better ball physics but the passes etc. are way more "pulled on a string" than they were in Fifa and passes, through balls etc. are much easier to do in the new PES.

The only thing I like to see in a new Fifa is the drag and drop tactics of PES which is an awesome new system/idea.

MrWhite that's a pretty big deal, as its probably the biggest stumbling block for the tech. (2 Hours ago)

MrWhite Stuff like inside out tracking and eye tracking, as well as motion sickness solutions should be in place. We've already got a product in development that claims to have eradicated that already (2 Hours ago)
