PES has lost it's way.

No it doesn't. The defending in Fifa 11 and the previous games is broken. Simple as that. You can hold a button in and charge a player and win the ball almost every single time unless you're playing someone with quick thumb skills that has a good player on the ball. I think you are talking about Fifa 12, where for once EA have recognised at least one of the big flaws in the game and are introducing something like what we see from PES here into their game. Should improve it massively.

Look at how terrible the animations are. Sound,... all are a disgrace. Sorry but this is one big FAIL. Look at how Casillas his foot is just gone.. It disappears into the pitch. Horrible.

And look at 1:30 how Sergio Ramos just stops running giving Ibrahimovic free space to shoot. Ridiculous.. How can you call this better than FIFA? Just shocking how deep this series has fallen.

@MrWhite: Hem... Of course Fifa already has it, and as far as I remember I discovered this feature in FIFA 09. Can't tell in detail about PES though, even if I remember having seen this kind of thing, but RT+A/R2+X is definitely a feature included n FIFA 11 and I use it for every single match I play :)

Wrong. I think you're confusing the L1 R1 or trigger jockying where you hold and press the two in to do some kind of side step. This is completely different. In PES and Fifa 12, you track the runner on rails and keep at a certain distance until you feel like you can get a tackle in. The jocky feature in past Fifa games required no timing, plus it only seemed to be for lateral movement. In Fifa 12, they are calling it tactical defending or some shit like that, and it is completely new to the series.

What I meant was the jockeying equivalent which has been their since FIFA11...
So the whole basics for the so called tactical defending were introduced in FIFA10 and FIFA11, PES needs to introduce new stuff, or if they are going to "steal" try to achieve the same fluid animations..
Fifa introduces each year new stuff, which is good but people get so used to it they don't see the gaping difference with the predecessor. PES just isn't able to compete any more.

EA should really fix the "moronic actions" of the AI. They run wrong, stand wrong, tackle each other, defend thin air and quite often tend to freeze for an instant while some striker is moving to goal.
