Lol, well BD and LO in europe didn't surprise me.. because if they'd let europe out of it.. they'd have a big loss ^^.

"When can we expect to hear about more Japanese titles?

Peter Moore: Well we don’t have a huge amount but the commitment I made last night is sincere ..."

Doesn't sound too good...

Yeah they may be commited but come on guys.

Your boat is sinking and your only using tea spoons, not buckets, to stay alive.

Peter looks pretty intense. He's an aussie right?

Brit, who seems to have lost his accent.

For Shame...

They say they're commited to Japan, but they still barely have enough titles on the market. I wouldn't mind playing a few JRPG's myself. Just not willing to sell my kidney for a PS3.

But i do have a wii on preorder ^_^

I wish MS didn't hire Moore, he came off as so full of BS back in the DC days, and nothing's changed.

EDIT: @Primer

What kind of BS did he pull in the DC days?

Not mocking just curious.

It's obvious a lot of Japanese gamedeveloper still haven't learned to think bigger then just Japan itself, more globally I mean.. You can tell this from the results of the 1st question: 'Which next-gen console will send cash registers ringing'.. If only 3% thinks Xbox 360 games can make money for them then they are very obviously only thinking about Japan itself.. Xbox 360 and it's games sell very well worldwide, so there is no reason why it shouldn't send cash registers ringing..

I think this was mentioned by Itagaki from Team Ninja aswell some time ago, that that's a problem in Japan with gamedevelopers, that they should start to think more globally instead of only Japan itself as a market..

Team Ninja en Capcom etc will make plenty of money with their Xbox 360 games, so there is no reason why other Japanese developers can't aswell.. And for the time being Xbox 360 is the only true next-gen console that will sell games on a big scale worldwide.. It's probably more then 10 million units ahead of the PS3 when that finally launches in Europe in March 2007..

Of course I don't know much about game development, but that thing about localisation... Is it really that hard just to change the language? If game developers keep that localisation thing in mind from the beginning, I think it shouldn't be too difficult just to translate the game. No matter how "deep" the game is.

yes localisation is a very time consuming affair. Especially in rpgs which tend to have tons of dialogue, which has to be translated into several languages.
Even if the localisation is only for the written text in the game it can take quite longer than one would imagine... And if you then count in the spoken text in a game like the big japanese rpgs then yes it will not only be very time consuming but also rather costly.
Remember the voice cast must be set for each territory - spanish, english, french, german and italian too, which are the major ones. Every dialogue must be rerecorded in all those languages... Ofcourse one could take the easy route and just text translate with subtitles over the original language (which I actually prefer) and some do indeed take this option as it is much cheaper.

Is it just me or does he look like the devil? :p
lol just kidding.

I likes this interview. He finally seems to be set on getting more games out there where in the earlier interviews it was all about down talking BLu-Ray.
If he keeps this mind set, X360 will improve greatly. I am already interested after X06 unleashed some interesting X360 titles.

It will be great to have TWO consoles out there that I want!

What's up?
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @Tiz: I only played the Campaign in the Gears games, so can't say anything about Multiplayer. But Campaign wise, I stand by my previous comments. (1 Hour ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz Judgement wasn't all bad though. Overrun is better than Horde and I wished if there was one thing the Coalition kept from Judgement, it was that. Instead of treating it like a horrid bastard child. (2 Hours ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz @Sdarts: Judgement changed too much. Stim grenades that gave you double life in gun fights wat? Ink downed you in a second? Verticality in Gears maps? Jumping off rooftops? (2 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @Tiz: Gears of War: Judgement was a refinement of the Gears 3 formula, and was a great game in its own right. (4 Hours ago)

Sdarts @Phaethon360: I completely disagree with you. Gears 2 was shit, while Gears 3 was an excellent game. (4 Hours ago)
