Venom Games, the "new" developer of the Xbox 360 version of Prey, released these six images (in a strange resolution) from the Xbox 360 version of Prey. They also confirmed that the XBL mode will have an 8 player limit, and that Human Head Studios are still developing the PC version.

i might of dreamt the TEAR bit? i'm sure its called that though. :\
If they plan to go as far as they said they would in terms of martial arts and gameplay system that will be unlike anything people have ever seen from devil may cry or god of war as they say :) Also there will be no cutscenes in the game so how do they plan on progressing the story along in places where the main character isn't? Word has it we'll be able to take control of other characters to help progress the story possibly some bad guys!! :)
I think I see softshadowing in some of these pics.
Well it's more real then Duke Nukem Forever. Looks like a bad Doom/Qauke copy. It could have been good back in 1996-97 but now it's just tradgic
I wonder how the portals work on the Doom3 engine tho. I wonder if they build the levels and then portals go to a predetermined location of are they random, and if they just transport your XYZ coordinated to different locations rather than a true portal.
Very interesting stuff, at least they have some innovative gameplay elements in the game. I can't wait for a demo or to try it out.
And this goes for both Xbox 360 and PC.. ;)
If it turns out like the Quake 4 port to XBox3560 (i.e. unoptimized framerate), then I'll definately sit this one out.
I agree with inflatable kind of, i think this would be a pretty good game SP though, seems to have a fairly good story line.

I have not seen a First Person view yet in the game.
But this game does look good although Im not a big fan of the Doom 3 engine.
2: Bandwidth. Most people have limited upstream bandwidth, so if they are hosting a server on their 360 they cannot do much more than 8-16 players, which means...
3: Servers. MS would need to buy a lot of servers, which cost money, and then geographically place them, etc. The fact is the more people = the more calculations and server lag. A 360 that is already pushing the limits of performance having to calculate and predict 32 objects and all their bullets and then cross reference them with the incoming packets, etc... may be too much.
This is an advantage of the PC where people can buy their own servers (or set them up/colo).
And for the record you would be lucky to play 3 or 4 players with dialup (and it would suck)... heck, some of the slower DSL out there struggles in 16 player games. MS requires broadband to maintain quality, not necessarily to pump up the number of players.

That said, if the cross hair acts like a FPS I don't mind the over the shoulder view. It opens up the game quite a bit IMO--just as long as they do not resort to 3rd person play mechanics as the staple.
Gametrailers has some new footage. I like the weapons.
