Not too shabby, but I'll definitely give it a rental first since it may retain some of that clunky gameplay from previous POP games.

The animation still doesn't look believable enough for my taste, and the environments could use a little bit more mood, more flying dust, mist...etc.

Its a remarkable action-adventure game in its own account but man it does not cater for "Prince-of-Persia"-ness. The environments are so European, with windmills and canyons, the main character is so anime looking with Dragon Ball Z lookalike hairdo___placing a scimitar in his hands and fixing some arabian arches randomly in buildings does not go for the required asian/assyrian/persian feel the game deserves.

I think it looks amazing, the artistic design is top-notch!

the trailer is very cool ... especially because it doesn't show a single of those very cheesy dialogs that unfortunately are in that game *sigh*

Personally I think its too far from the original. Its looking a lot easier and stuff, and I really liked the combat in PoP. I think this looks like a pretty great game, but I think it needs to notch up the difficulty. Plus the enviroments feel a little big, which makes it seem like there are less choices, because outside enviroments have less surfaces and stuff... I duno, I will have to try it out to see if its worth a buy too though.

And I love the engine. And the prince actually IS pretty persian looking, which I was surprised by when I saw a good close up of his face. Gorgeous game though. Might be worth a buy just to see it all the way through haha.

About the game

What's up?
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @KORNdog: Still very different. More like Diablo but the "game feel" is not as polished. Systems are more well designed, but I have to give it to Diablo when it comes to fit and finish. (5 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @GriftGFX: like divinity? Better or worse? Might be one i dust off the xbox for. (5 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX The economy is unique and will probably seem strange to new players.. but every system is cleverly tied together in PoE. (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX And yes.. the passive skill tree is pretty insane. It has a healthy mix of rigid decision making in its passive tree and flexibility in the active skill system. (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Path of Exile is an endlessly playable action RPG and Pillars of Eternity is a turn-based single player game w/ a party system. (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX No they are not.. they are both RPGs and they both have isometric cameras but that's where the similarities end. (6 Hours ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz I always confuse the PoE abbreviation with Pillars of Eternity. Are they even the same type of game? (6 Hours ago)
