Quantum Theory also on Xbox 360

Tecmo announced today that their rather admitted clone of Gears of War would also be released on Xbox 360 for its occidental release, and sent these new artworks and images of the game.

The Game looks just weird and ugly.

It should have stayed exclusive.

it should have stayed in the mind of the creators tbh, it looks like complete ass. the idea of running around the same tower for the length of the whole game just seems tedious.

except for teh face, the guy looks like a goth-COG and the environments fail to impress. I guess it doesn't really matter if the gameplay is really good but i have a feeling that perhaps that won't be so. I guess i'll have to wait for a demo though.

This is just wrong in so many ways. Can't you get copyright protection for the way a game looks. I don't even have to squint my eyes to see Gears of ..........

You know, Itagaki didn't develop Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden singlehandedly. It's a team effort and seeing as how the team is still there i think team ninja will continue making games of the same quality.

Erm no, pretty much anyone significant left as well and formed a new team with Itagaki. I can't think of anything worthwhile that the company did in recent years outside of his team, the complete blandness of this title just underlines the gap.

Oh, didn't know that. Well then, that's that then :P

pretty much, all of Team Ninja's leads, etc etc etc, left with or actually prior to Itagaki leaving. the only person of any note that didn't leave would be Hayashi (despite how much Itagaki fanboys want to claim otherwise, Hayashi WAS a longtime core member. Itagaki didn't pick him for Sigma 1 just for the hell of it), who is obviously the new Team Ninja head. that having been said, i don't know why any of you are even bringing up Team Ninja, Itagaki, or whatever else. Team Ninja != all of Tecmo. Quantum Theory isn't a Team Ninja game, never was. Team Tachyon is the dev team. not that that's saying much (though Undead Knights was a decent amount of amusement).

The best things the company ever did were Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 & 2, the latter of which was made after Itagaki and his team left. Kinda ironic that the two best Ninja Gaiden games are on a platform Itagaki hates :D

Well in all fairness Sigma are just tweaked versions of the original games, and i still think that NG Black is the best NG game ever.

Well, I will say again, no Itagaki, no party, that is clear :'(

Sigma 1 was not as much of a remake that Sigma 2 was on NG2.
Sigma 1 had less Mission mode and only 3 outfits but had 1 extra weapon and much better graphics, sure it sucked big time that less outfits and mission mode was in it (counting out Survival Mode DLC which are awesome), but the rest was pretty much exactly the same (also not counting the NG NES), but the same thing cant be said what he did with Sigma 2 were he definitely changed tons of stuff from NG2 (NG2 is worse than NGS2 if I can point that out).

Itagaki was the guy who decides what goes in the final game or not, even though it took a whole team to make it happen, but the final approval was through Itagaki, and unfortunetly, many fans of NG dont know what happened with NG2 with its bugs and freezes and its cheap designs oh so called "challenging", it wasent as good as NG1 was which was a shame.

I still think that NG Black is the best one in terms of atmosphere, feel, pacing, music, it had alot of passion in it.
But once you play NG2 or Sigma 2, the combat and weapons is fantastically done that you dont want to go back to NG1 again, and combat and balance is important.

About Quantum Theory, the art and all is good, but not for the genre they are going with, which is shooter.
If it was a another hack and slash type of game then I would look into it, but because it is trying to be Gears of War with a twist, meh.

True, some of the main TN persons left but nobody knows how many of time and what they had for position, but still, with so many years in the company, the rest can still do their job, nothing changes. But with Itagaki gone, I am 100% that future NG and DOA will look more fresh with Hayashi in charge, I mean look at NGS2 compared to NG2. There are some bold moves Hayashi did to NG with its stylish mist when killing, Ayane and Momiji playable and even co-op, it is just a matter of time what NG3 will be like.

Also, Itagaki had nothing to do with Sigma 1, he wouldnt trashtalk Sigma 1 if he let someone else do it.
I remember Itagaki saying something BS like "once you play NG2 you wont care for NGS" something like that.
I mean Itagaki must be stupid because it is obvious that NG2 would be the NEW sequal to NG1 of course it would be better...one way or the other. What Hayashi did was to remake NG1 a tiny bit for PS3 owners who didnt have the chance to play NG1, nothing more. It wasent planned to beat NG2, and as always, Itagaki is stupid to trashtalk to someone in his own team.

But, Hayashi has done Sigma 1 and Sigma 2, both remakes of what Itagaki made, but he just added new stuff to make it stand on its own.
I definitely cant wait to see how NG3 will turn out, what new direction it will go considering that it will be Hayashi's true first game to make from scratch...aside NG Dragon Sword.
Just hope to god that he will continue to have the badass combat from NG2/Sigma 2 in future NG because the combat has set a standard for me in the genre now.

I can't comment on NGS1 and 2 (haven't played 'em, most likely never will), but NG1 was an amazing showcase of talent for the time. There was nothing like it in terms of graphics, presentation and gameplay for that generation of hardware. It's funny how this has become an NG thread though...

If this could be like Gears without the *throw your controller through the wall* moments, I could be heading for this, but will need to see vids first, and definitely a demo!

I will avoid the NG stuff in this thread considering its not even Team Ninja who is making this so there is no connection.

i take it this is when all those ps3 owners who were looking forward to this gears clone suddenly have no interest in it anymore?

Can't see the appeal of it myself..interesting how japanese developers are turning their games more western though

i honestly dont get how anyone could have been interested in this, EVER. it doesnt look completely unplayable, but it doesnt look great, or even "good" for that matter. the only reason certain PS3 owners where interested in this game is becasue it was excluse, not becasue it looks good. which is about as sad as it gets.
