THQ's announced that a playable demo of Red Faction: Armageddon will be available on Xbox Live and PSN on May 3. The game is still set for release in North America on May 31, and on June 3 worldwide, for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
For the first time players will assume the role of Darius Mason and fight their way through Martian sewers and an oncoming alien infestation. Meanwhile, Darius must clear his name as the colonists have blamed him for unleashing the alien threat that has ravaged the underground cities of Mars.
Players will have at their disposal the Nano Forge as they combat alien invaders with concussive blasts and core-shattering tremblers. Rebuild all that you destroy with the Nano Forge’s incredible Reconstruction ability. Finally, throw entire buildings at your enemies with Red Faction’s signature weapon, the Magnet Gun.
To our PC players, unfortunately, we will not be providing a demo for that platform.
@GriftGFX: I think MS were in full on panic mode because they wanted to add value to their box, so they showed everything. (16 minutes ago)
Yeah they just need to actually implement some of that stuff. They're charting an interesting path. I feel like they showed this game off before they knew what it was. (17 minutes ago)
For instance, in Destiny, the whole point of getting loot is to get better equipped to do raids for better equipment to do raids for better equipment and sometimes Iron Banner. (18 minutes ago)
@GriftGFX: It really depends how they approach it. If you can upgrade your ship, crew etc to navigate more dangerous parts of the sea then it will be a dangling carrot scenario. (19 minutes ago)
Also, like the Division you have to cash in the loot before people steal it for themselves. The Division ran into the problem of just allowing anyone in the instances. (21 minutes ago)
And like.. what's the purpose of the loot itself. (21 minutes ago)
@GriftGFX: I feel like what the loot is will determine the way people play. Will there be the standard common to Legendary loot? Will some loot be harder to navigate to, if so, will it be worth it? (22 minutes ago)
