Do you guys think the graphics in this game are better than PGR3? I can't decide.

not even close to PGR3. The physics look awful as well. Serious case of car on a stick. I'd play it in an arcade booth but I'm not paying to play it at home.

Yeah, you're right. After watching it a 2nd time, and comparing it directly to a PGR3 trailer, there is no comparison. I would like to see a higher res trailer for RR6 though, just to get a more apples to apples comparison with the PGR3 trailer I watched.

In my opinion it's not correct to promote your own site in your comments. Dunno what other people think about it, but i find it very annoying.

I find it annoying when/if the comments are fluff or short shotgun/spam posts. In such cases the poster is not posting but advertising.

As for comparing the games they are totally different types of racers. Graphically there is no question that PGR3 is more advanced and polished. The cabin view alone with the dirt, reflections, and how you bob and sway with the inertia of the car alone puts PGR3. Also it seems the shadows are either really weak or absent in some parts of RR6.

RR6 may be great if you are a fan of the series, like arcade racers and/or power sliding racers, or demand 60fps and are looking for a HD racing game. I would not call RR6 a bad game--only that it is competing against one of the truly next gen titles at launch.

Looks fantastic. This has gotten me even more excited to play this game.

This is an arcade racer, realistic physics need not apply.

some ppl don't seem to have played any ridgeracer title yet... OF COURSE ITS LIKE ON TRAILS! IT HAS TO BE! otherwise it wont be a ridgeracer!

i can't get rid of the feeling that I will be very disapointed with PGR3 when I finally see it on my own HDTV. expectations are just to high for PGR3...

one thing is better in RR6 than PGR so far... the tarmac texture is very nice compared to the boring one from PGR.

IMO arcade racer like Outrun and Ridge Racer don't deliver enough to be really awesome. There must be something beyond just driving against some other cars. This is why I love the Burnout games so much.

I recognised all those tracks from previous games. I hope they add enough variety to make it worth it.

outrun is not an arcade-game, it's a way of life :)

It looks fast and fun right from the get-go. I think that's all an arcade racer needs to be great. Plus you are usually going really fast over large areas to need a densely packed city area to look good. I'll rent this game if I have enough money for it after buying so many others.

don't give a damn so gonna get this game, only cuz i love the made up tracks and cars...their creativesness...superb! the game...superb lookin! reiko...extreme makeover! it may not be as good as pgr3 but its a good lookin arcade racer...who cares about physics, its all about good fun!!!!!

Omfg. That trailer was hot as hell! This game looks like it goes 7x faster then PGR3. I love how Ridge Racer has so much style and the very beautiful Reiko Nagase. =) Yay for RR6!

for me Ridgeracers on the PSP is still the best game on the system... i player RidgeRacer1 in 1993 at the arcade and it was the most amazing game I have ever seen at that time.

It looks really nice even though it lacks the detail of games like PGR3 and, dare I say, Outrun 2.
Gameplay wise you can't compare it to PGR3 but if it has the same gameplay as the original Ridge Racer it will be OK.
The menu's look very cool with the green hexagons.

Doubt it will be on my most wanted list though.
The racing competition is already rather fierce with PGR3 and NFS:MW on the Xbox 360, although there's always a marcet for an arcade racer.

Looks like it fits with the Ridge Racer series nicely. This game doesn't look as far along as PGR3 is though.

I can scream all the 'oh it's so ugly' lines I want, but when it comes to playing Ridge Racer, I will probably be addicted once more.

I was in NFS MW but when i saw this trailler , things changed!
The sound of the engines and the awesome graphics of the enviropments make me want this game more than NFS but as a European i have the luxury to wait for the reviews and i ll decide after.

Ridge is Ridge. Not a simulation game, Ridge is fun-to-drive game, as always.

Basically, what makes RR6 better than pgr3, is the artistic department. I am a 3D artist (but i don't work in the game industry) and i can easily understand how pgr scores higher in trems of quantity and even quality of effects, but the way, for exemple, RR scenary stretches on to the orizon, or far skylines are filtered to an incredible sense of depth makes the whole picture more appealling to the eye. All these "tricks" are mastered here to a more "next gen" result.
This, of course, is just my opinion. Anyone else thinks the same?

I think PGR3 looks a hell of allot better so far than this.. ;)

I have never played any of the RidgeRacer games but this movie makes me want to try them out. I'm not a big fan of the Grand Tourismo super-realistic driving games, I want to be able to slides around corners and do super-drifts and such things so this game seem right up my ally. Graphics wise it looks aight, looks mostly on par with a lot of other launch titles.
