E3: Rock Band 3 instruments

E3: Rock Band 3 instruments

Rock Band 3 was officially announced last week, and with it a batch of new instruments, the two main surprises being the keyboard ($79.99) and the 102 (!) button guitar ($149.99). Added to that are the new cymbals ($39.99) for the drum kit and a MIDI adapter box ($39.99) so you can plug your own keyboard to play the game. We also know that a package including the game and the keyboard will be available at $129.99. It still remains to be seen what the prices will look like in Europe, but it should unfortunately be as usual with a conversion from dollar to euro that will be at our disadvantage. You may want to get ready to get a loan before putting your money down.

That's somebeautiful equipment, albeit very expensive IMO.

Just me who thinks they're overcomplicating it? It appears you need to know how to play actual instruments to play it now!

Fortunately for me I play guitar - but this will have an impact on the more casual gamer IMO.

I'm pretty sure the "Pro" instruments are very optional... targeted at those who have found music games stale of late, which seems to be a common opinion. The midi box for existing keyboards is cool (but still expensive). It'd be cool if there was a midi guitar attachment you could buy for real guitars!

They seem to be very mindful that people already have large investments in plastic instruments and DLC.

I'll just be happy to have the cymbal notes actually show up as cymbals! That has driven me crazy.

Seth @Moonwalker: i know that. But they should have better solution for this. All of the replayability of the game goes right in the shitter in current state. What's the point having score attack..... (1 Hour ago)

Moonwalker The beginning is very similar to Dead Space indeed, but i really do like this atmosphere man and that mech part is good looking. (1 Hour ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker in the review that the cutscenes can't be skipped. An explanation for that could be that alot of loading screens are hidden in these cutscenes, thats what he said. (1 Hour ago)

Seth @Moonwalker: So now is Dead Space clone lol?Capcom clearly don't know what to do with this franchise. (1 Hour ago)
