Page 1 2 >>I liked the graphics in SR1 more, they were colorful.
Looks intruiging, but certainly shows that all those screenshots were VERY heavily touched up.
They're all HD Screen Grabs from the Trailer.

And you'll see what I mean.
Looks pretty good, I might pick it up once I'm done with GTA

In the end who really cares about cutscenes, when there is already in-game footage from the beggining of the game... Hospital Break. Great Stuffz.
But i wonder how the car demolition physics and pedestrian physics are gonna look. I wish they'd have a normal gameplay trailer, you know from behind the character in the normal view angle when you actually play it.

think it looks well, still need to sort out their controls, who uses A to drive :)
GTA4 is in a different league
try harder.
are you sure? check out some actual gameplay footage...GTA4 is in a different league
But in terms of gameplay, the big difference between Saints Row and GTA IV, is that Saints Row is actually fun to play. Screw the realism, I want to throw people into trains, fly 50 feet into the air when I'm hit by a car, and perform wrestling moves on other players off skyscrapers.
Oh, and online co-op/System link :)
I know a lot of people that enjoy a good sim racer a lot more than an over the top "fun" arcade racer. Or enjoy a hardcore military fps over a casual "fun" shooter like say Stranglehold.
Either way, it's good to see SR 2 taking a different approach than GTA, but I wouldn't call it a better one. And I personally feel that SR has the worst kind of "humor" and completely lacks any sense of character/class. The environments are extremely unconvincing. The city is just extremely bland and generic.
Sure, GTA IV lacks the diversity that Saint's Row has to offer. GTA IV actually took a major step back in that regard...it has turned more into an action drive/shooter game. But with that, the quality of the gameplay is unmatched in games of this scope, and the gameworld is so well made...it's really an experience like nothing out there. My pick is GTA IV any day, however...I can see how other people might pick SR.

GTA is for a well paced high quality storyline with a vivid city, Saints Row is over-the-top gangbanger Wonderland cheesy fun. Even more than the first part.
The two games share the same subgenre, but are vastly different.
Though, my impression has been that many people tend to lean towards either GTA IV or Saint's Row.
But, what's the definition of fun?

I'm sorry, but no.
No it's not, not in a long shot. GTA's humor is clever, suble, distinguished. SR's humor is about talking as much smack with as many F and S words as possible without any real thought to it.
I found very few of the jokes, since GTA III to be particularly funny. And they use just as many "low brow" jokes and swearing as Saints Row does.
