Skara The Blade Remains video

Skara The Blade Remains video

Skara The Blade Remains is a Free 2 Play under development whose ambition is to propose the first ever Multiplayer Online Versus game with a rich background worthy of a real RPG. You'll find more details about 8-Bit-Studio's title on the game's Kickstarter page, but we had a chance to try it ourselves and the April build we played is not really convincing yet. Graphics-wise, Skara looks great even though the 10 people team has just been working with Unreal Engine 4 for 8 months. Gameplay on the other hand is too clunky and slow at this stage to get us excited, but if the developers manage to make the combat system more dynamic and responsive, it might be worth checking out later. A new build should be available soon, so hopefully we'll see some improvements over the one we played. For now, make sure to watch the video we captured as it shows the two arenas which are available in the game at the moment.

Hope they improve the character animations because they're right out of 2001. Some cloth physics would also be a good idea.

Graphically not too bad at all, but yeah those character animations are pretty damn sad, lol.

MrWhite then it should be the reviewers job to question that, and then withhold their final verdict until they play a product that representative of the consumer release. (48 minutes ago)

MrWhite If developers are being disingenuous with certain "features" and holding them back or flat out deliberately omitting them from review builds (49 minutes ago)

MrWhite The way these things are getting dropped into games now, it's not an afterthought. They're there early and by design. There's no excuse. (51 minutes ago)

MrWhite @droezelke: Hmm, not sure if I buy that one. Reviewers often get handed the final build. Besides, there's beta's and the like they get handed, and early access to the games. (52 minutes ago)

droezelke ...has been on the market as retail version. (1 Hour ago)

droezelke @MrWhite: It's hard for the reviewers, as sometimes these 'features' aren't in the review code or are disabled. So, it would be best to read reviews that go live after the game... (1 Hour ago)

MrWhite Maybe then that'll generate enough awareness for the consumer to know exactly what they are buying into. Experienced gamers should know better. (1 Hour ago)
