The demo of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine has been released on Xbox Live today and should arrive for all PS3 and PC gamers shortly. Until you can play it yourself, we have decided to show several videos taken from the two available levels. Let's start with the first part of the Inquisitor level.

The most badass 3rd person "shooter" (I keep using melee as much as possible) I have played so far!

Thank god they didnt use cover system like other games.
You want to heal? go in like a warrior and kill enemies brutally to gain health!
It encourages you to move constantly, great design choice Relic!

Day 1!!!

PS. I hope Relic decides to make another similair game but this time in a fantasy setting considering they clearly know how to make brutal combat.

This isa great game... for dinasty warriors crowd. as a shooter its pretty weak.

I can't see from where the whole Gears comparison came - i know, both games had big bad-ass dudes (doh). Played the demo and feels totally different compared to Gears of War.
It's good game but the camera is problematic and ruins half of the fun for me.
I will buy the game at some point, but after Gears3 and the other bigger games.

Although it was a short demo it was a joy to play, definitely getting the full game!

I hate Dynasty Warriors, nothing like that at all.
Shooting is damn meaty man, i would say its like Gears.
A regular handgun and a assault rifle pretty much make their heads explode, thats weak to you?

Only thing the same is the characters are huge and bulky (though Warhammer was long there before the NFL steroids that is Gears lol), and that it has that over the shoulder shooting, but other than that, nothing alike.
I agree, the camera sometimes gets aweird during finishing moves, but its not a gamebreaker or as bad as say, Ninja Gaiden lol

I want a Solo Horde Mode were waves after waves of orcs comes at you and you pretty much fight them off and get various melee weapons and some guns for good balance lol

Still have to DL it, but what engine are they using? It looks a lot like Darksiders from Vigil games. They are also onboard of THQ? Or am I missing something here?

THQ is publishing the game I think, but they are using the Darksiders engine, but updated one.

Fantastic stuff! Imagine using Conan music or something similair during melee with the hordes of orcs, manly! lol

I didn't expect this game to actually be challenging. I thought I could just draw my chainsword and yell "For the emperor!" but it turned out you had to do a bit more than that. I still would have liked more combos and more epic music though but the demo was still fun to play.

Hard is damn hard, goodluck hack and slashing your way through the demo, its impossible unless you retreat and use everything you got.
The music is alright, I personally use custom music, so I use trailer music with epic orchestrals and choir, need to have that epic battle feel lol

Warhammer 40k is fantasy sci fi, there is also regular warhammer which is just fantasy with knights, horses, magic, etc.

You should just try playing the very old WH40k Dawn of War and Winter Assault expansions to get a taste of RTS take, or rather the very brutal take it can be.

But yeah, that is what I mean, Warhammer 40K is fantasy sci fi, but I want the ones that is purely fantasy with no sci fi involved.
And if Relic can make such a setting with the Space Marine melee action, I would be very happy.

Warhammer is the first that came up with space marines originally so nope, this is as original as it gets.
And IMO, the most badass "space marines" I seen lol
