Wii

The excitement is getting out of control with Super Smash Bros. Brawl fans only a few days before the japanese release scheduled for January 24, 2008 and later the same year in Europe. Even if the Dojo is on a break of updates, information keeps coming in, and here's the first japanese commercial for this fighting game, which was, as a reminder, the best selling GameCube game with its Melee entry. Thirty seconds of joy after the jump.

Update: final spot is now online, with a very special guest which should please you all!

Both!

Its main genre is fighting. But it includes a plethora of features, like the Subspace Emissary, in which you play an adventure/action side-scrolling game with the characters all in 2D+3D.

wait, somebody didn't know what super smash bros was? Wow, i'm amazed those people still exist... most played game on gamecube, and one of the most popular on n64.

I predict sold out the first week of release. Here are my predictions ;

Japan sales will be around 450K (week one)
America sales will be around 350K (week one)
Europe sales will be around 350K (week one, when released)

I also predict it will be a million seller in LESS than a month. My bet is it will be as soon as February 12th. American launch is the 10th. I'll say it will sell over 5 million copies in a year.

Why do you predict higher sales for it in Japan versus America? I doubt that.

I myself believe the sales will be higher in America, we love SSMB:)

Maybe because i'm bad at predicting =*( Or I read too much?

Super Smash Bros. Melee has sold 250,000 copies in nine days (NA)
Posted by Wikipedia
When released in Japan, it became the fastest selling GameCube game with 358,525 units sold in the week of November 19 to November 25, in 2001
So if you take these numbers, Japan had the edge after one week with about 100K more copies sold. I'm expecting history will repeat itself and japanese sales will be stronger in the first week. Of course I could be wrong, in fact it is the first time I predict sales figures for a game.

The only thing that is almost unbelievable is the 5 millions sales worldwide after a year, but when you see games like Carnival Games getting 1 million sales in a really short amount of time vs. Smash Bros. popularity, depth, and support of GameCube controllers, it could be possible.

Possible for first week sale but the 5 million in a year I can't see. If the likes of Zelda: TP, Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime can't do it, what chance does this have?
To us it may look like a quality game but 60% of Wii owners are casuals and won't care about this. Wii Fit is what they'll be thinking of...

Personally i can't wait for this game but don't have a Wii and won't get one until there's a price drop. I can't justify paying the current price when 360 is cheaper and their's such a difference in hardware.

You can pick the 360 Arcade bundle up online for cheaper than a Wii.

I see the x360 arcade for $279 at Amazon.com and the Wii when it's available sells for $250.

ok I am very very confused. I have never seen a SSBB before so I was interested to check this so called awesome game. Imagine my surprise when i saw quite possibly one of the lamest things I have ever seen. It looked like a bad fan service mod to a cheesy fighting game. What the hell do people see in this crap. Hmm, since when is posting an honest opinion trolling? I wondered what the fuss was about, checked out the videos hoping to be pleasantly surprised, and was left baffled. I am seriously confused by the hype this game is getting. Granted I have a very low opinion of N's first party games, but I gave the videos an honest look and remain baffled.
