Lightning is far better than in Gears, but the textures are prtty washed out, but overall it seems to be solid. Gameplay also looks nothing new, but not bad either...

The lighting isn't better, it's just different. Epic purposely used "cinematic" lighting instead of natural lighting.

Yeah, maybe but Gears has many - lets call em shadow-glitches.
The direction of the light and shadows sometimes changes without any light-source in sight. In Gears 1 it was a big bug and in part two its still noticeable.
I may correct myself and say that the lightning-system in this game is much more realistic...
don't like the animations of the terminators. I know theyre robots, but damn they walk as stiff as if someone shoved them 20-D-energizers up the arse...
I cant say enough for about how much I love the look of this game. From polished graphics to the level designs shown, it all looks like a really fun shooter. The only problem will be if they find a way to add enough variety to the game. Too many games now start out fun but grow tired way before you reach the end of the game.
the cover system seems odd. you have to point to a location for john to run to but you do have control over the weapon as he does. so you can waste ammo :) I think it's a system similar to Wanted.
