TGS05: Ridge Racer 6 gameplay video

TGS05: Ridge Racer 6 gameplay video

Blim has just uploaded a high-resolution gameplay video of RR6. Textures are sharp, speed sensation is really good (thanks to the 60fps), but nothing extraordinary either. Oh, one detail: the video is only internal view, so no cars at all. Blim has got an other video with cars, so you gotta be patient ;)
Update: 480*270-res version added.

I think for ridge racer it still looks bloody good the visualness of the game was great my only thing is will it look that good on my Sony trition it's only a 27 inch flat screen it has componet hook up's so it has some form of a upper quality. Do you guys think there will be a big differnce then just pluging composite.Cause I did it with my dvd player and there was some improvment

Looks good so far.

I hope they include the original Ridge Raver 1 track.
Best track ever!..

Anybody notice on screens 2 & 8 in the bottom left corner of the screen that there are Pac-Man graphics!?

Is that suppose to be some sort of "fun" indication of something?

In no way did that impress me. =/

Very nice and crisp, but overall pretty underwhelming.

Love it - but then I am a Ridge Racers whore.

hmmm, not spectacular, but it looks far better than I had usually anticipated . . ... promising :)

I think the graphics are average for a next gen game but it could be a good one. Hopefully there will be a lot of gameplay vids and pics today.

i think once we get a direct transfer hi-def video then the graphics will shine........as good as the footage is.........the graphics are wasted on a camcorder

I uploaded a smaller version of the vid, of course there must be smaller vids than 150 MB.

Pretty impressive. I can already spot major enhancements from the now 5 year old PS2 game RR5.

1. I noticed extreme detail such as in some buildings, you can see the typical flouresant lights through the glass office buildings
2. The draw distance is huge, its almost like a flight simulator.
3. The texture detail has increased 10 fold, just look at the painted lanes in the street.
4. The image is sharp due to it running in 720p. The only strange thing is that there was no other cars on the track.

Thanks for the Vid, really impressive stuff. I think the reason why there are no other cars on track is probably because the demo running at TGS was Time Attack mode. I can't get over how good the visuals look at 60fps in HD resolution, now all I have to do is scrounge up enough $ to purchase an HD display.

It's also interesting to see that Namco have decided to continue the Nitro feature from Ridge Racer for PSP for Ridge Racer 6.

I'm getting the feeling this video has been sped up to 60fps..

My video ?

Well it just looks like the game is running at 30fps and has been sped up to 60, because if you look at how fast the lap counter is moving its way too fast. And also the speed of which the camera is swaying and the peoples heads moving in and out of the frame seem unnaturally faster that you would expect. It makes it harder to tell aswell since the video has no sound. I've compared this footage to Gamespots HD footage and this one seems to run allot faster. There was also a couple of videos from Quake 4 Multiplayer (Not the most recent ones, these ones I'm talking about were posted a while back) that appeared to be running faster than usual without sound either. I'm not criticising you're videos or anything, I just though since there are rumours floating around about the Xbox 360's lack of ability to display 60fps in-game, this might have something to do with that.
Don't ban me please..

I repeat: WTF???
My video is fine, and the timer is ok on my PC.

Uhh I worded that really wrong..I should have said I've heard rumours that some games will be running at 30fps and not 60fps. Anyway it must be something wrong with the video I have, it just seemed like it was running faster than it should, I'll try downloading it again or something. Sorry if I offended anyone.

What's up?

GriftGFX And not just for some but some experiences. VR stuff that's developer for VR is obviously the best VR stuff. (4 minutes ago)

droezelke @KORNdog: VR improves for some. Remember that not all people can handle VR. (17 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog but at the end of the day it's still just a sold separately peripheral. and you can't force any dev to support a peripheral. (49 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog kinect is different though. it sold for the same reason the wii did. not necessarily because it actually improved the core experiences associated with gaming. VR however, does. (50 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @alimokrane: demand of hardware STILL isn't being met in a lot of places. software there is a steady stream of releases and sony have their big FPS coming too, not to mention 2 studio's set up for VR. (51 minutes ago)
