not bad for a Wii, though I gave up on that platform a while ago...

I heard the Wii version was very good indeed last year. If I am going to get PES at all this year, it'll be for the Wii.

it doesn't look half that bad ^^

Hmm, if I'm honest, I actually think those screenshots look better than the so called current gen game. Ironic that. PES' only viable home could be the Wii, because it's a shambles on the powerhouse consoles.

You can't have played much of PS3/360 PES09 if you think the Wii version looks better, Dingleberry.

Yeah, you're right. That was a bit harsh in hindsight. But if you look at it perspectively, I initially thought that these screenshots were the 360/PS3 vesion at first glance. The fact that those versions still have a very last gen look about them, and that the Wii version is almost on par with them visually bar shadowing, says a lot IMO. Seabass has failed the owners of these consoles epically. There is just no defending him and Konami. Amazing how a once incredible franchise can go down the toilet so fast.

With regards to the next gen versions, PES will never compete with FIFA until it uses a new engine.

I think PES will only shine on Wii due to the control scheme. On Xbox360 and PS3, the king is Fifa 2009
