TGS09: Crackdown 2 images

I'm sure a few people like me were a bit afraid that Crackdown's 2 would be too different from the first episode, but these screens certainly seem to show all that made the first game great, plus finally some more powerful enemies!

Was hoping they'd upgrade the engine a bit... the CG trailer got my hopes up, I suppose.

Still, after Mass Effect 2, this is the game I'm most pumped for. SKILLS FOR KILLS AGENT.

Hopefully the soundtrack is a wicked as the first.

The orbs are back!! That's all that matters to me

They've got lots of convincing to do as far as I'm concerned. I really liked the first one, but considering this one is pretty much the same city, they truly need to have improved the gameplay A LOT to make it worth the purchase. They certainly haven't improved the graphics much.

Most overrated game ever in my opinion.

I don't understand the love this game gets. Then again, I suppose the same could be said about some games I like :P

We'll see about that once the reviews on the "Optimusv2" game are in :P

The orb collecting was great fun, the rest left a decent amount to be desired. Fun game but just a rental for me. Too many other games coming out that look better for the money.

Has anyone played Crackdown recently? The character detail in these shots is tons better than the first game, much more refined.

Probably the most underrated judging by how many people I know who actually bought it (severs fingers with spoon). I think this only sold because of the Halo 3 beta, if memory serves me correctly?

What features can we expect from the "OptimusV2" game? (apart from everything looking and playing like Blue Dragon?) :oP

I dunno, all the people I know who've played it love it, and all the people I know who don't love it haven't played it. I think the Halo 3 beta helped get people off the fence about buying it, but a lot of Crackdown's biggest fans (myself included) never played it until some time after the beta finished.

One of the biggest loved games on Eurogamer. It's getting a sequel not because it sold the Halo 3 beta, but because it was also fun as hell and there was a ton of noise to get a followup.

Fair enough. I really enjoyed the game, the fact that you can kick a truck to death is genius! Oh, and then beat people to death with the truck! :D

I wish there was a new city. But I'll buy it anyway :P

i agree, if it wasnt for the obsessive need to collect the orbs then the game would have been terribly dull

As long as there are no stupid car races, better co-op functionality and the game flows better overall, I'm sold. Otherwise I'll just rent it this time. Granted I bought the first one way after the fact for $15 after a friend refused to stop bothering me about not having it and his deep desire to play co-op to prove to me it wasn't perfect but silly, I enjoyed it and it was a good cheap deal but still.

Crackdown is in the Top 5 of the best games ever made in my opinion in terms of fun.

And with this pics and the orbs in the horizon has confirmed that this will be the same I just love the looks and the gameplay of this games.

I love you CRACKDOWN!!!!!

I don't think it's the most overrated game ever, but I do agree with you that it's overrated.

The gameplay mechanics were decent enough - you could do some pretty cool stuff and it was fun to play - but my goodness: the most dull and repetitive mission objectives of all time. Seriously, I felt as though every mission was exactly the same and offered nothing different at all. They could have done a lot more than 'go to location, kill gang leader or whatever, rinse and repeat'.

Saying that, I'm quite looking forward to this based on what I've read. The idea of 50+ maniacs running towards you sounds quite thrilling. Oh, and I think the graphics look fine - a noticeable improvement over the first one anyway.

The reason some people found the missions dull and some didn't, is because the ones who found them dull... actually went on the missions. If you focused purely on the missions they were a run in, run out situation and over before you can blink. Everyone else just played around in the world and only tackled the missions when they stumbled upon them, which made them more of a nice surprise and a fun little battle than a simple task.

What features can we expect from the "OptimusV2" game?
The main feature will be that it will look much better running on your HDTV! It will look amazing when actually seeing it right in front of you on your HDTV! ;)

Anyways, I'm with LEBATO on this one. Why the hell are they revisiting the same damn city? Huge letdown! Crackdown was an amazing game (orb hunting = most addictive gameplay 'feature' this gen), but fell short of it's potential. I was very disappointed in the limited distance you could jump when fully upgraded. Even if it was just a bonus after you completed the game, it would've been great to be able to leap like 100+ meters!

Looking forward to this one still, but the orb hunting won't be as refreshing as it was in the first one, as we've already been-there-done-that. But, let's hope they have plenty up their sleeve to make up for that.

From the previews I read about the game there is much more to it. It's not exactly the same city, new buildings have been built and some old have decayed over time. Also there seems like you can go underground where those freaks are hiding.

I'm really excited about this game and I think it's in good hands.

Crackdown is one of the open world games with the most detailed city ever made. And the city looks again awesome.

The game will be fun just like the first one. Cant wait for it :)
