That looks so generic and cluncky. It's all I can say.

Wrong and wrong...it's a great game, it really does play well especially the gun play for a Japanese dev team. I also think it looks great, the locations are real locations in the near future. It also looks great.

Oh and it's not me playing by the way. :P

This game apparently has a voice command system too and squad personality dynamics similar to Mass Effect. So I wouldn't dismiss it so soon. I think a lot of people will be pleasantly surprised.

Is the game out already? How do you know it's a great game?
Ok, the clunckyness might be because of the person playing it. But it's still looks generic to me based on that footage. The screenshots I've seen look also bland and generic. I might be completely wrong. That is why I said 'it LOOKS', not 'it IS'.

Looks pretty solid to me, however, the Gears of War cloning leaves a lot to be desired.

The animations sets are pretty good.

@droezelke I know it's a great game because I played it during TGS, I'm surprised that a Japanese studio has gotten the gun mechanics down so well. Not quite as good as Gears but for game developed by Yazuka team I've very impressed because the gun mechanics in Yazuka 5: Of the End were pretty bad.

everything about this game screams generic and clunky, still have no idea why this game is getting such praise. obviously i'd be happy if it came out and surprised me, but for now this isn't on my radar.

Played this too at the showfloor today, and have to say I went more impressed than what I was going into it. The controls felt smooth and the gameplay felt overall good (although "Gears-ish"). Even more impressed seeing how much trouble Japanese developers seem to have had with 3PS' this gen, but this felt like it could have been developed a western developer.

It's getting praise because what we've played it's played really well...considering when Sega released the 1st trailer it looked like crap but the demo at TGS really impressed everybody that played it causing people to give it praise.

About the game

What's up?

GriftGFX I wasn't really setting up any specific comparison at all. I said modern phones and many PCs. That's pretty vague. You can set whatever limits on that you want. (37 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Granted.. synthetic benchmarks are just that.. but in Geekbench 4 a Snapdragon 835 can outperform a Q9550.. which is definitely faster than the E6600. (52 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My personal history of personal computing goes back to 8-bit computers. I think 2017 ARM CPUs are amazing. (54 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @droezelke: I said E6600.. and its single core performance in synthetic benchmarks is certainly comparable. But yes. You can go back to the 80s. I didn't say anything about them being modern. (54 minutes ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke @GriftGFX: no, a snapdragon 835 does not have computing power of a Q6600 (9 years old). Do you really want to go further in time to prove your statement made sense? (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX And "many" isn't a specific number. There are many 8088s :D (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX But the exponential rate of progress means that you don't have to go back too far to make that true. A lot of the progress here was done in our lifetimes. That's amazing. (1 Hour ago)
