TGS: Halo MCC in motion

TGS: Halo MCC in motion

After a few hours of technical issues Halo: The Master Chief Collection was finally playable at Microsoft's booth. As usual now it's only the multiplayer part, as seen in this 60 fps video.

Good god looks like I'll only be playing Destiny until this comes out. Looks amazing. I mean, technically, Destiny's graphics are better, but the sheer amount of content in here is fantastic. And the memories from college of connecting two Xboxes on two TVs side-by-side, getting eight people together in the same room and having a blast on Halo 2.

Good to see Halo being seen in a positive light again. This release cant be denied. So much content for the value. Really its kind of stupid to think about the other games that have launched and been so lacking in that area. Even Titanfall which i own on PC in my experience had much less than what i expected, even for an online only game (which compared to most releases is only half of what is normally delivered). Even with these games being remakes though, it really makes you wonder why big budget titles from big budget devs cant deliver a 60$ experience similar to this.

However, i do honestly think that if Destiny were to have something like this done 10 years from now for it, that it probably wouldnt stand up very well to the games we will be playing then. Which, like i said, seems strange that this looks to be a better experience than most actual ''next-gen'' developed games considering this series has spanned almost 15 years.

The king?!? Yeah, of console (Xbox specificly) FPS games maybe..

As far as Deathmatch First Person Shooter Multiplayer games in general though, still nothing beats the 1st ever real 3D shooter released.. Quake! After 18 years, still the best in pure basic DM FPS gameplay.. It's so hard to beat because it has everything a good 3D shooter needs, good flowing maps, good movement freedom and the right type of weapons (hitscan and prediction), it ticks all the right boxes in gameplay and skillrequirement.. The only thing newer games did was add better graphics, change the setting and add a few gadgets here and there, but the basics are still the same..

Quake was always too fast/hectic for my taste in MP. Which is great on PC where you have the M&K but you're right, I'm more of a console player so its style doesn't suit me. Id take Halo:CE's multiplayer over Quake any day, and most people (on console) would agree. MCC is going to have CE's MP over Xbox Live for the first time ever...it will be interesting to see how many people gravitate towards that over the others.

Never understood the big deal of Halo. Looks clunky, slow and boring. Guess that goes for most console fps though.

Must bite my tongue commenting on the players lol.

Game looks stunning in 60fps, can't wait to try this beast out online.

What's up?
  • Sdarts
Sdarts So Forza Horizon 3 also benefitted from FM6: Apex. Quantum Break's PC version was Remedy's first foray into DirectX 12 development. And I also agree it seems like it was decided late in the process. (3 Hours ago)

Sdarts Source: [url] He was referring to Quantum Break on PC. Also, I'm sure Turn 10 shared what it learned from Forza Motorsport 6: Apex with Playground Games (3 Hours ago)

alimokrane perform very well. I am expecting Gears 4 to follow suit. (4 Hours ago)
  • alimokrane
alimokrane To be honest, QB looks great on XO. the PC port was a fiasco really.. MS shouldnt have forced them to do it. Other games which intended to have a DX12 port well early look great. ReCore and Forza H3 (4 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
    GriftGFX Not that DX12 wasn't (isn't?) over hyped :D (4 Hours ago)

nostradamus AW runs at 10fps on my laptop, when UE3 and other engines thrive running on that shit toaster. (4 Hours ago)
