TGS: Killzone gameplay

TGS: Killzone gameplay

As promised here is another video of Killzone: Shadow Fall from the TGS, this time with our friend Bombstrike doing both the filming and the playing, so we have someone who actually knows what a trigger does in a FPS playing! No sound in this video, but it was only the crowd noise anyway.

TGS: Showfloor gameplay (no sound)

looks like they've sorted the LOD issues on the tree's and foliage. now they just need to sort the texture streaming issues they seem to have on the rocks and it's poifect

Yes, there is a lot of texture pop-in. This should not be happening with all the memory they have available. If this is not fixed, I won't be buying it because I hate texture pop-in. It is so distracting. I hope this is an old build.

can't wait to play this !

Damn the pop-in, they shouldnt allow this to happen as Droezelke said.
Rage was annoying as hell to play as one of the reasons was the same.

I hope its an old build...other than that, looks great.

Looks stunning. I can see why it's the most pre ordered next gen game.

RAGE was awful, way worse then this. every time you turned around it had forgotten it had loaded in the textures. so you got pop-in constantly...all the time. it was such a garbage engine.

it looks to be a newer build then E3, probably the latest most stable build.

I know Rage was worse, I didnt compare them, just meant that the texture pop-in reminded me of Rage, might as well even mention Gears of War games as well.

In the end, i hope the pop-in issue isnt in final build since its going to be annoying.

it isn't final, that much is known. GG devs said they're leading up to crunch time. so they'll be going hell for leather getting things buffed to perfection.

Thanks to GS for caring about us and upload a video with some one actually playing the game.

The game is looking strong, even tho I wanted it to look even better for a KZ game. Needs work with those few pop-in textures, but nothing big.

hopefully they could achieve 60fps for single player campaign, but with those insane graphics, i have my doubts, but if they achieve 60fps with these graphics, then this is no doubt technically the most impressive next gen launch title by a far far margin...you can do it guerilla programmers, you are fighter after all !

This game just shot up to number one on my hype meter. Flashbacks of Perfect Dark Zero on the 360 at launch come to mind. Same kind of visual style and knee weakening verticality. Wow! I cannot wait for this game. The next gen is nearly upon us. Learn it, know it, love it.

For anyone who is wondering, this is an old build. It's missing all of the particle effects that were in the multiplayer and even the e3 demo AND some soldier models are place holder...

That being said, this level looks cool! IMO playing it on hard difficulty and creeping around the jungle, taking out one soldier at time will be awesome!

The level itself look nice and vertical now too! Really looking forward to the final version

Nope, SP is confirmed 30fps. MP is 60fps.

30fps for single player? Wtf? I hope the visual sacrifices to get MP up to 60fps aren't too high like worse texture pop in than this. But regardless this is visually stunning and I think maybe on par with the Pc bf4 clips.

I am sure the texture pop ups is a temporary thing, they already got rid of most of the lod pop ups.

like i said before, this is an old build and it's missing all the effects :P

I think you didnt follow the latest killzone news recently, killzone developers confirmed they are running "way above 30 fps"

10 september 2013 :
Steven ter Heide, Game Director, who went on the PlayStation Blogcast and explained how they’re using the PlayStation 4 to make Shadow Fall feel like a new game, while also keeping the Killzone feel:

I think the most immediate thing people notice is the leap in visual fidelity. We have more horsepower with PlayStation 4 and that means you can do bigger, bolder things. It’s running at 1080p, it’s running far above 30 frames – we’re aiming at 60 – so that’s a very good thing. That’s the first thing people notice just the visuals, the way it feels.

Ok, then I missed that update. But I'd rather have no pop-in and 30 fps than 60 fps and pop-in. Anyhow, I want it both: 60 fps and no pop-in.

pop-in has nothing to do with 30/or 60 fps, it is mostly a LOD (Level Of Detail) streaming issue, even if the game is running at 15 fps, you would still get the pop in if developers do not optimize their streaming technology.

What I meant was: they should not be pushing for 60 fps as long as their texture and shadow streaming isn't optimised. They should put their time in that problem. They probably are I think.

GriftGFX People sayin' Paladins isn't "inspired" by OW design are funny. I can't even take the hi-rez guy seriously. Sure it was in development first. And it's changed (to be more like OW) a lot since then (2 Hours ago)
