Page 1 2 >>As long as Skyrim has rich and untrodden look to it I'll be happy. Cyrodiil was beautiful if a little characterless.
Also..be sure to read this.

In the link the guy provided in an earlier post there was a little bit of info on each tech system in the game.
In the graphics portion of the description of this game, they said they have implemented sufficient lighting and shadows (on everything), as opposed to the last game which only had shadows on certain objects or players.
First screenshot of the game, and it was announced and ''only announced''-as in there was no other info other than the announcement of its existence. Very highly possible this is some type of alpha build they slapped together for a single screenshot. Dont be so skeptical. From the distance of the screenshot, it almost looks to rival what i have seen of Gears of War 3, which is still looking to be the best graphical showcase in the coming year.
i dunno.. Oblivion never grabbed me like Fallout 3 did. I keep trying to pick it up and play it but always end up losing interest.. i like the VAT system too much. I think This will have that?
Am I the only one who thinks Oblivion was pretty boring?
I wonder if their engine borrows any assets from the RAGE engine...

Of course we are the minority here so bring your flame shield.

A rpg with boring story is imo boring.
Though it was pretty atmospheric...
To each their own iraiptoir....i wa a huge fan of oblivion...no matter what high profile games that came out I always found myself diving right back into oblivion. At the time oblivion offered the most exploration and customization that virtually any other game out there. Whether or not you were a fan of oblivion or not you do have to admit that oblivion was a good game and it does deserve credit for paving the way for most other action/story oriented rpgs out there
I for one liked what they did with the combat system, it meant I didn't need to have "skill" with a sword to have it hit something.
That was my biggest gripe with Morrowind, being 1st/3rd person I felt the use of dice roll algorithms to figure out if I hit that Nix hound with my arrow was not quite right. It fits with something like Dragon Age: Origins or NWN but it never connected with me in the 1st person...

maybe it was because I just recently played it like 2 weeks ago recently and I think IMO it has not dated very well.
Its juts not my type of game and for what I played it indeed animated like shit and was boring as all hell, but thats just my opinion in a sea of opinions.
:P

now that you mention it, it really doesnt have any shadows. weird, you'd think that would be priority 1 when it came to this "new" engine they're suposedly using (well, after the animations)? to have actual dynamic shadows.
it's not looking great tho.
it kinda just looks like fallout 3 quality wise.
Let's not forget that this is more or less a year away. It'll look spectacular come release, I've no doubts about that.
Or, alternatively, it could be one of the last things they add - like with Fallout 3.
