The Witcher 2: Prison Break

The Witcher 2: Prison Break

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings impressed us during its GamesCom presentation in Cologne. We're pleased to offer you the first episode from a series of gameplay trailers of it, produced by Namco-Bandai and CD Projekt. Entitled "Prison Break", this video tells how the heroe has escaped from jail.

They transformed it in a third person action game...I loved the mouse control with air camera...

This is shaping up to be another great game!
Combat looks greatly improved from the previous few videos!

Awesome!

It looks stunning, tried the first witcher game but didn't find enough incentive to get on with playing it when new games came out. But I will definitely give this one a go again:)

I also tried to get into the first witcher game, but I couldn't get on with the control scheme, it felt clunky. Though the fans will no doubt disagree.

My only observation is that it looks like they've hugely revamped the games control scheme, in doing so, the game will appeal to the likes of me, but it might alienate its loyal fanbase. Not something I'd like to see happen to one of my favoured games.

That looked great! I think this also gave us some ideas how Dragon Age 2 could be narrated, I heard it was similar to persons talking over the main character at a bar or something.

The original game sure has it's share pf problems, i don't think any fan would deny that. It is still a damn good game though. A ton of content, a good though linear storyline and plenty of side-quests to go around. Sure, the combat might have been a bit overly complicated, but you did get used to it after a while though i hope they have toned it down a bit. Having 6 different fighting styles, potions/alchemy and signs was a bit much i think. The addition of more gear is also very welcome, as that is extremely limited in The Witcher.

But hell, it looks great and since i think the first one was the best RPG we've gotten in a LONG time you can bet your ass that i'm looking forward to this, especially with all the improvements :)

Very nice trailer. Well made and original. The graphics are simply stunning. System requirements will be like wise probably.
I tried the first Witcher, but couldn't get into it because of the complexity of it all. I like RPG's, but when they become so complex, I need to much time learning how to play the game.

I'm playing first game at the moment and I kinda dislike combat system alot, hopefully they'll get rid of it for good. Other than that, sequel seems to have great graphics and tits, what else a man to wish for? Oh yes, I'd prefer to have some hot female witcher under my control, not this man, but oh well, at least he doesn't looks gay like most modern male protagonists... Oh er... I was kinda hoping they'll make them moveable eye pupils this time, but apparently we'll still have to stare at blank emotionless faces even with this kind of graphics. But at least nature in this game worth simply standing and staring at.

Don't use the word gay in that condescending way here.

About the game

What's up?
  • Melmoth
Melmoth waiting and staring, sounds realistic to me. I did a lot of that in the close-combat troop in the costal artillery :D (9 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Oh, and there was lots, and lots of sitting on a beach and staring. Oh, and Harry fucking Styles! Harry. Styles! Riveting stuff. (9 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Might as well have been watching an episode of the A-Team. "I ain't gettin on no boat, fool!" (9 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @asdfg: A PG-13 historically accurate (or was it) accounting of a real WW2 event that cost the lives of 30,000 soldiers, yet the best Nolan could come up with is a torpedo and some target practice (9 Hours ago)
  • crookedmind
crookedmind They said the same thing about pedophiles when "to catch a predator" aired. Suddenly, they were everywhere. They've always been there and always will. (11 Hours ago)
  • crookedmind
crookedmind @droezelke: I don't think it's getting worse. I think it's just reported more, has more exposure. I grew up reading about horrible shit supremacists did in the south. This isn't new. (11 Hours ago)

MikeManiac61 @droezelke: It's crazy how Charlottesville is 2 hours away from me Very frightening indeed. (12 Hours ago)
