Just read an article about an insider at CD Red that explains how the PC version is downgraded to the lowest denominator (X1) and why. Apparently CD Red didn't have the time and manpower to do 3 versions (PS4, X1 and PC), and at the start of production they didn't know what the specs of the consoles would be. As a result,a lot of graphics features were either removed (like blood spilling in water) or downgraded (View distance, less environment details or assets like trees and foliage, no tessalation on terrain and buildings, hairworks, etc.). The article you can find on the website whatifgaming.

Those "final" screenshots are very disappointing, doesn't look much of an improvement over Witcher 2 in the end.

This launch cinematic is what the PC will look like on Ultra mode. LOLOLOLOL. Remember guys, according to CPR its going to be a "slap in your face" when you turn on ultra mode on PC.

This might be the Crysis of 2015, and only really run with hight settings on reasonable PC's in 2018.

The reason why the original Crysis ran so bad and why it still is impossible to have a locked 60fps (even with the Titan X) @1080p, is not because it is so graphically ahead of it's time (it was in 2007 though). The reason is that it wasn't optimised, and has never seen an update after the patches they released after the release. Crysis is unable to use a high-end quad core or higher because it's not built in the engine. Crysis is not optimised for sli or X-fire as that wasn't a common technology and those technologies were not as optimised as they now are. It has little to do with hardware limitations. It's just built on an engine that was unoptimised and hasn't been updated for current hardware. Future proof doesn't exist as long as they don't update the engine to make use of new hardware and technologies.

The Witcher 3 looks great for an open world game, but it's not mind blowing, even on ultra settings and does not look like early promotional footage and gameplay. (FYI: the game has already been leaked on torrent sites, so footage of the PC version is available, but you have to be fast because CD project tries very hard to remove all footage prior to release, for what they say is 'to avoid spoilers').

The game has empathically *not* been leaked on PC anywhere. The only leaks have been on consoles. This is because the activation file hasn't yet been released anywhere, not even to professional reviewers, specifically to avoid piracy before release, and thus you can't play the game as PC version even if you got the retail package. There is no working PC copy anywhere except the developers' own machines at this date.

he is sort of right, the pre-load has been leaked, but like Light has said they do not work because the activation file for the pre-load has not been released, and will not until the day of release

Sath,

The same studio that did this, and other CDPR cinematics is actually working on a full CGI/live-action Witcher movie, although likely in Polish: http://www.platige.com/en/films/ (under "In Development")

One thing that annoys me from the recent gameplays is how silly the running looks like lol. Sprint is animated very good (not close to MGS5 Phantom Pain, but still good).

So much venom here, almost makes me consider cancelling my Steam pre-order.

However I think they'll release an Enhanced PC version, like they've done for the previous two games, they just need the money to do so.

Are these screens from the developers, or from somewhere else? Are those from PC version?

About the game

What's up?
  • droezelke
droezelke @Moonwalker: I agree. Other than the Metal Gear series, he didn't really present something as good. And I thought MGS5 was ultra boring (55 minutes ago)

nostradamus never played snatcher, but policenauts has a awesome scenario. (1 Hour ago)
  • b0vril
b0vril I never liked MGS series, but I loved 5 (1 Hour ago)

Tiz @Moonwalker: 2 is the best Metal Gear Solid though. (1 Hour ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker Personally i find Kojima rather overrated. Yes MGS and MGS3 were fantastic, 2 wasn't nearly as good, same for 4 and 5....nah. (2 Hours ago)
  • nostradamus
nostradamus @jmd749: Kojima Productions is independent. wrap that and give it away to your other half. (3 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Ultimates do drive big plays. Don't think it makes everyone Seagull. (3 Hours ago)
