Images PC Xbox 360 PS3

IO Interactive is rather shy when it comes to releasing images of Kane & Lynch: Dog Days so today, we are only shown three new screenshots. The surveillance camera look does not seem particularly convincing in stills, but word on the street is that it looks great in motion. Hopefully we will see it for ourselves soon enough.

graphics are a bit meh, but i'm looking forward to it, the whole CCTV presentation style sounds awesome and i enjoyed the first game despite it's flaws. probably wont be buying it, but i rarely ever buy multiplat's anyway.

yeah.. i think we need to see how the CCTV filter plays it's part in the visuals..might look alot better in motion, or it might end up a fugly mess.

Gameplay wise.. well the first was terrible..but there was promise there, the pacing was pretty strong, even if the script was weak. I hope they tighten up the controls and cover system alot. And hopefully make the multiplayer live up to it's potential this time.

Oh, and put in loads of swearing words - thats always cool. I love nothing better than playing a character who's got tourette's

I too am looking forward to this one. The first was fun and showed lots of potential, in spite of its many flaws. If they can fix the flaws, tighten up the game play, they are going to have an awesome game on their hands. Considering all the awesome games that IO Interactive put out last gen, I was surprised to see the first K&L release with so many flaws. I guess Eidos was broke and looking to rush the product out the door; finished or not. With luck this time out, we see IO return to their former glory of a great action game development studio.

why would you not buy multiplats? I think this gen has had better multiplats then the previous ones.

some other reason I'm missing?

The game should be a fun rent though. I can't see the MP being good enough to ever warrant a purchase.

exclusives, 9 times out of 10 are just better. better, more polished gameplay and visuals. they genuinely push what a console is capable of, and generally speaking, they're the showpeices for a console. multiplats are not. they rarely deserve to be played, never mind bought but as with most thing's i'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them anyway (rental)

for me the likes of GOW3, uncharted 2 and mass effect deserve to be suported...99% of multiplatform games dont, they rarely entertain me for more then a single playthrough (even the great ones) and they're not worth paying 40 quid for. sure there are the odd exceptions, GTA4, batman AA etc. but they're rare.

i've have never really rented a game and thought to myself "i wish i bought this", but if i had a quid for every game i'd BOUGHT and wished i rented i'd be rich.

for me exclusives are the only reasons to own a console...the multiplats just keep you busy while you're waiting for the next one.

not to mention costs. there was a time when i'd buy every game that even remotely interested me, exclusive or otherwise. but then i found online rental services. you pay what amounts to the cost of maybe 3 games, but you get to play almost every game released in a year. it's smarter to just rent most things.

plus a lot of my "fandom" lies withing existing established exclusive franchises from last gen or even the generation before. i will buy the likes of GOW3 out of necessity and becasue i love that franchise. games like dante's inferno..well, lets just say i'm not sure i even want to rent it, never mind pay good money for it. multiplat titles just havnt wowed me as much this gan as they did previous generations...as i said, there ARE the odd exceptions, but i can count them on one hand.

Well, maybe in the PS3's case, not so much the 360.

I'm with KORNdog in terms of the standard of exclusives; you look at Gears of War 2, Alan Wake (potentially), Mass Effect 1/2, Halo: Reach (potentially), Uncharted 1/2, God of War 3, Heavy rain etc. and it's clear that the quality of the end product is almost a foregone conclusion. Don't get me wrong, there are some fantastic multiplatform titles around, but there tends to be a lack of consistency in them compared to the exclusives.

I'm not really sure how exclusives have anything to do with Kane & Lynch although I would like to add that I rarely purchase multiplatform titles as well. Not that anyone cares, but here are the titles I'm looking forward to purchasing: God of War 3, Alan Wake, The Last Guardian, Splinter Cell Conviction, GT5.

So grimy, yet love it. It feels real, especially the first screenshot with the bloodspray.

I loved the first game, warts and all, because of its unique characters, storytelling, and intense action. They're already improving the cover system and shooting reticle, but I hope it doesn't feel very mainstream streamlined like a boring Gears game.

Strongly disagree with KORNdog.

This gen has been dominated by some of the best multiplatform titles ever. Heck, my most anticipated game is not GOW3 or Reach . . . Sure, I'm looking forward to both, but I'd pick Elder Scrolls V over either in a heartbeat (which is sure to be multiplatform). Oblivion, Fallout 3, Bioshock, Dragon Age, GTA, COD, Orange Box, etc...

This gen has been awesome for multiplatform titles. Pitted against each other, I see no trend of exclusives being generally better games at all. for every upcoming exclusive I'm looking forward to, I can easily name at least one multiplatform title with equal appeal.

I agree with KORNdog he have a point but if a game get's released as multiplatform I always go for the lead platform the developers originally started to work on. Like final fantasy XIII for PS3. Don't know which platform I/O interactive started to work on with this game. But I/O interactive as always in my opinion been a company focused on pc games (Hitman for example) so I will try to get this on PC.
