We didn't have too long to wait to get some footage of MechWarrior 5 since here comes nothing less than 3 minutes of gameplay of the game. Fans of giants robots, this is for you!
I love the cockpit view but the weapon impacts seem weak and the robot designs are terrible, sorry I just never liked the mecha designs from this franchise. Overall though it looks like it captures controlling a lumbering and towering walker very well...
cleverly scripted movie, but not actual gameplay. Looking pretty good though IF it was rendered by the engine in realtime. I'm not too sure about that either...
In honor of BattleTech's 25th anniversary, Smith & Tinker has authorized MekTek.net and MekTek Studios to distribute MechWarrior 4 (along with its expansion packs) completely free.
You would think that if an explosion was caused ata mechs destruction the emergency escape system would include some sort of vertical propulsion as well, instead of landing on a flaming ball of hatred.
In other news, this game looks friggin awesome. I liked Mech Warrior for the xbox and it was pretty fun online.

Yeah the camera work looked so cinematic, and wierd. I couldnt play like that.
It looked & felt exactly like those other not-ingame trailers weve seen before.
Im sure the gfx will look similar, but just this trailer didnt really feel ingame. Felt like a cutscene.

nope its 100% ingame and yes its the unreal engine 3.5

Hey Blim- You might want to change the title. The game director confirmed that it's not Mechwarrior 5. It's a complete reboot of the series and is just called Mechwarrior.
Video looks amazing. Hopefully the final game will end up coming close to matching it.
Sweet I love mech games and this looks awesome. Looks like they could do most of that video realtime, but some parts like when the pilot ejects and you see most of the city would be difficult to render smoothly.
hmm, makes me miss chromehounds even more, such a great game that was, so team based and made pretty well, pity it didnt do better would of loved a sequel.
I can't help but feel like I'm just a regular sized guy in the game, moving reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally slow amongst some tiny buildings that are supposed to make me THINK that I'm really big. You have to pretend that you're in a mech so that moving slow and creeping around is ok, but really it's just.... meh. lol sorry to be a party pooper.
