Perhaps they disabled it because of frame rate issues.. when is the game due for release anyway ?

Or maybe it was just a 1 on 1 race, looks alright to me, but this game is more about the gameplay and customization.

It has very good Anistropic Filtering by the looks of it.

All this game need is NFSM gameplay and good speed, anyway the game looks ok and nice replays to watch.

This game is only a few notches down below Gears of Wars in my most wanted list.

is it me, or does it just feel like this is showing a very relaxed driving session on a sunday evening? as in, it looks like everything is driving around 60km/h :)

They tried to make it daytime but everyone they passed in the daytime would laugh at their ugly cars. plus neons don't work in light and you can't have a ricer racing game w/o neons.

The video didn't work for me, WMP crashes.

It definetly looks better in motion, but its still average at best. At least it should run at 60fps, unless thier engine sucks.

Racing games are meant to be played in first person using manual shifting.

All racing games will look slow in 3rd person view unless they are meant to be full on arcade racers.

And no, this game does NOT need NFS gameplay, it's way better judging from the previous TXR games... plus, it has always been about night time racing in this game, even back on the snes, it was about night time racing, NFS does that because it was hype a few years ago, TXR sets the trend, not NFS...

Also, i remember trailers from the previous PS2 games, they showed cars cruising back then as well, it's just to show off the game and to get a general feel for it... believe me, it goes faster then this, and the cars get a whole lot more interesting as you progress through the game, especially the boss cars!!

Im dissapointed that no western publisher has jumped on this yet!! im sure it's not going to be region free, so it looks like another 6 months of waiting, AFTER a publisher picks this up, which could take months as well dammit! :(

I´ve played txr zero on the ps2 and its one of the best (street)race games according to me!

Not graphix or gameplay but the customization and story :)

You should know that when you let go of the controller for some time, the car enters an "auto cruise" mode and travels slowly around the city on its own.

A game called "highway battles" was listed on that list, however, im not sure if that's true really...

Yep, and it was on another ubisoft's leaked list before that one.
The game has a "working title" status on many places, so thats why I would think highway battles IS TXR.
