Looks a lot nicer than the shitty stills but still nothing special. Where did the traffic go?

Perhaps they disabled it because of frame rate issues.. when is the game due for release anyway ?

Or maybe it was just a 1 on 1 race, looks alright to me, but this game is more about the gameplay and customization.

It has very good Anistropic Filtering by the looks of it.

All this game need is NFSM gameplay and good speed, anyway the game looks ok and nice replays to watch.

This game is only a few notches down below Gears of Wars in my most wanted list.

AND NO! :o it does not need NFSM gameplay

Too dark. I wish they would learn that we do not like racing in the dark.

This game is all about racing in the dark.. :S

is it me, or does it just feel like this is showing a very relaxed driving session on a sunday evening? as in, it looks like everything is driving around 60km/h :)

i mean the game still isn't on the level of PGR3, but it's not bad. it just looks like a kinda boring experience.

That is my point.
Stop making games based on racing in the dark.

Yes it does, or at least PGR3 gameplay.

Looks Fun. I like how tight the road is, only if the cars went faster and sounded better.

Yes I really hope they have the turbo squeal like someone running over your pet cat.

They tried to make it daytime but everyone they passed in the daytime would laugh at their ugly cars. plus neons don't work in light and you can't have a ricer racing game w/o neons.

The video didn't work for me, WMP crashes.

It definetly looks better in motion, but its still average at best. At least it should run at 60fps, unless thier engine sucks.

Racing games are meant to be played in first person using manual shifting.

All racing games will look slow in 3rd person view unless they are meant to be full on arcade racers.

I can't believe no one here has played a TXR game before.

It's about raciing at night when the traffic is quiet like in real life.

Looking good... traffic was disabled, as it seems...
Buildings look good now!

And no, this game does NOT need NFS gameplay, it's way better judging from the previous TXR games... plus, it has always been about night time racing in this game, even back on the snes, it was about night time racing, NFS does that because it was hype a few years ago, TXR sets the trend, not NFS...

Also, i remember trailers from the previous PS2 games, they showed cars cruising back then as well, it's just to show off the game and to get a general feel for it... believe me, it goes faster then this, and the cars get a whole lot more interesting as you progress through the game, especially the boss cars!!

Im dissapointed that no western publisher has jumped on this yet!! im sure it's not going to be region free, so it looks like another 6 months of waiting, AFTER a publisher picks this up, which could take months as well dammit! :(

Who usually publishes the TXR games here?
Commented on 2006-07-07 23:09:35
I´ve played txr zero on the ps2 and its one of the best (street)race games according to me!

Not graphix or gameplay but the customization and story :)

Just hoping it will come to Sweden :P or europe

one of the reasons i bought the 360! I want it!

Now I need ubisoft to bring it here quickly and it'll be the best day of my life!

And please dont judge the game if you havent even played the previous installments.
You should know that when you let go of the controller for some time, the car enters an "auto cruise" mode and travels slowly around the city on its own.

Indigo, if my memory serves me well, it was always Crave that published the TXR games over here...

Chewbacaa, any reason why you mentioned ubisoft?

because word round the campfire is that they will pick it up, or allready have, according to some ubisoft release list that leaked out months ago...
A game called "highway battles" was listed on that list, however, im not sure if that's true really...
Commented on 2006-07-08 06:25:34
Yep, and it was on another ubisoft's leaked list before that one.
The game has a "working title" status on many places, so thats why I would think highway battles IS TXR.

Hmm.. most interesting!

I found this one through google:

About the game

What's up?
  • Tinks
Tinks I didn't understand why he played so poorly either though. Subasic has been amazing the rest of the tourney. A big reason they won against Denmark and Russia (5 Hours ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks @MrWhite: I agree. Penalty like that shouldn't happen in a WC final. Croatia's keeper was screened for almost all of those goals, aside from the deflection (5 Hours ago)
  • nostradamus
nostradamus @Melmoth: oh god, that is amazing. the sounds and visuals are insane for a sim. (5 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @droezelke: For both them? Mbapp was 20 odd yards out. His positioning was shite. Should never have let that one past him. (6 Hours ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke If FIFA didn't object so long to get a VAR, the concept could have been bug-fixed 10 years ago. (7 Hours ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke @Tinks: The VAR is an exvellent tool, but the rules applied to the VAR are restricting them from intervening. Also, the hands-rule is so ill defined that it's completely open to interpretation. (7 Hours ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke Then the shot came and as he tried to correct to the right, he was leaning on the wrong leg and went out of balance. (7 Hours ago)
